(1) That's a "national columnist" like I'm a Intergalactic Avenger;
(2) 99.99% of what Rafael Nadal does on the court is Raphael Nadal;
(3) You're a known headcase with an axe to grind and bizarre, criminal
causes you routinely advocate.

Doesn't matter. The author is correct. If you have a rule, it should
be enforced. Either that or eliminate it. It can't be up to the
discretion of referees to enforce rules arbitrarily, whenever they see
fit. That leads to favouritism and undermines the essence of fair
play: It corrupts the sport.

>It corrupts the sport<

It does. Along with the constant time enfringements. And the phoney medical
time outs. And the grunting after you have hit the ball.

Djoker had no complaints about Rafa taking so much time between points
in USO final. He woulda passed out from fatigue had Rafa played quicker.

The players don't complain because they need the extra time to recover,
far more than Rafa needs it. He should get sportsman awards for being
kind to the opposition.

Agreed. My response last night was more of a reaction to Hazelwood's
being for something than my being against it. Even a broken clock's
right once (digital) or twice (analogue) a day. The sanctioning body
ought to consider disallowing the attending of Nadal's matches by Uncle
Tony and/or anybody who's coached him professionally to see whether that
has an impact on his outcomes.

Yet Justine Henin cannot go two points without looking to her coaches box.

What I saw was this: Gavrilova was about to serve once, and looked over.
She raised her fingers off her racquet's grip, her father nodded, and
then she served-and-volleyed. A few points later, she stared over again,
and a coach pointed his index finger to the sky.

She then hit three straight moonballs, lobs.

Look, Gavrilova cheated Stephens. And if Nadal, the No. 1 player in the
world is going to blatantly do the same thing, then it's only going to
send the message down the ranks.

these people need to be banned until they stop it...period
