while i see great strides made by rafa this past month, i still
believe if they get into a real knockdown dragout fight at FO, and
they easily could, djok is going to win. nadal will fight him hard,
but come short.

nadal has to up his game 1 more level to beat him, IMO. hope he gets
there.

Can Djokovic beat Vesely though? Djoko is on a 2 match clay losing
streak currently...

djok is going to beat anyone but rafa at FO, and probably him too.
let'sw hope rafa raises 1 more level.

I think he can do it. MC+B titles should give him some peace of mind and
ability to focus on right things for next couple tournaments... and
perhaps add confidence there... Rafa certainly needed these titles. More
so than Madrid/Rome.

they're the right direction, but IMO he'll need to get 1 more level.
back in the day, him winning madrid or rome wasn't wishful thinking,
but highly expected. he'll need that kind of confidence for FO.

That's scintillating. How many prediction contests have you won, when it counts? Have you ever won ONE? I bet I have have won more in the five years I have been posting here than you have in your entire time on RST. I bet you are in the lower percentile. I know I sound like Whisper bragging about the insignificant contests but since I'm competitive I'm curious, have you ever won any? You do a lot of peacocking about how you are the first to predict this or that but when it comes down to the nitty-gritty, how are your numbers?

Obviously the two faves are Djokovic first and then Nadal at the moment. Duh. Even Gracchus the biggest Nadal hater next to Dave would admit Nadal is the second fave.

He predicted something more important than the game contests.
He
foresaw Federer winning Wimbledon and even I think number 1, back
in late 2011.

Can't top that imo.
Best call I've ever seen here.

He also predicted Tomic would win Wimbledon by now...

Couldn't be better than his prediction that Fed would win 1 slam at
best. Or that Roddick would far surpass Fed. Now that's what I call
solid analysis. Really awesome stuff.

He still has to prove he can face down Djoker in a slam. Yes this run
will give him confidence etc, but if he has to face Djoker at FO he
better hope it's the final. That's where all the intangibles will favor
Rafa.

i won 1 that i know of (tied actually), but haven't entered many. last
5 yrs been kinda busy. i'll enter all of them this yr and we'll see
who is better.

my statement was simply that IMO rafa is still < djok, and he'd have
to get better to beat him at FO, which is contrary to TT's opinion.

you sure took it a lot further, as usual.

i didn't predict tomic would win wimbledon.

3 yrs ago i thought he was pretty talented but didn't have the fitness
or athleticism to be top 3 in these times, and he wasn't intent on
developing it either. IMO he's still dangerous in an individual match.
