their twilight tennis years, decline in ability does not occur in a
linear relationship with respect to time (say month to month). Rather
the relationship is more a logarithmic one.

Murray has never put himself in a position to win a slam final, so

Not always. Connors and Agassi kept most of their stuff right up to
their
mid-thirties. But in general I think you are right. Thirty is old
for guys who
have spent significant time at the top of the game.
Becker, Edberg, Sampras, Lendl, McEnroe and now Federer....this is

So you cap off your inane post with more stupidity.
The decline is linear if one doesn't have injuries, while the results
may not be because the differences at the top are small or because of
psychological impact on gradual decline.
Federer's ground game could though be logarithmic, because it's based so
much on his movement...once he gets 1 step slower he can't hack it
against other pros.
And of course you're being alarmist because of couple early losses -
against good players. He still made RG final recently. So all in all
very stupid post, excuse me.
