She says she won't ask for a wild card.

Probably a good decision. If both the FO and Wimbledon rejected her request back-to-back, it would be crystal clear that she isn't welcome anywhere anymore.

Its not the question of whether she is welcome. It is a question of ethics. Do you give wildcard to someone who has been punished recently (doesn't matter if it is unfair). I do not like what French Federation did, but I respect their decision.

Sharapova should have played challengers and worked her way up the rankings. She wasn't ethical enough to do that and I blame her for this fiasco.

when OJ simpson was acquitted, he thought he could go play golf at his
normal country club again. found out he wasn't welcome, though they
never officially rescinded his membership.

Big difference. Sharapova did not murder anyone. Its a witch-hunt right now. Most probably because she is Russian.

most probably because dopers are under the microscope for a while now.
bad on her to get caught. she did it to herself.

man, you're really lost. i'd don't mind her, in fact if the drug was
an accident IMO she deserved no punishment.

but i'm not in love with her like you. your poor wife, probably has to
look at sharapova posters in the bedroom!

I don't understand what's to discuss here?

She was caught. She was punished. Served her time. Now is back,
given wildcards by those who want to give her, and playing
qualifications for the tournaments that won't give her wildcards.

Everything is normal and the way it should be.

Some dislike her for her wealth, queen of the wta title and some
perhaps because she's Russian. That's not excluded as well, but
that's the thing that inspires her too, as every champ enjoys
having haters.

Otoh guys like Raja are totally useless to her.

raja's accusing me of disliking sharapova, which is completely untrue.
i commented that if she really doped accidentally, it's a shame she
missed 2 yrs. if she doped intentionally, then she's a cheater and 2
yrs isn't enough. only she knows.

some also dislike her for her shreiking on court, but i don't mind it.
some also dislike her for her personality, but i've no problem with
it.

She would only be unwelcome by the tennis establishment, which imo
should be sacked immediately & replaced by real tennis people who know
what the game needs & fans want.

You should run for an office. "Make tennis great again".

Make up your mind already. It is more than a year since the incident. Either she is innocent or guilty. CAS ruled it that she was innocent and made a honest mistake and was unaware of the ban on that drug.

FBI and most intelligence agencies have concluded Trump and his men colluded with the Russians. Yet you do not doubt Trump at all. But in Maria's case you still doubt her when CAS has concluded she didn't intentionally do it. Hypocrite!

Don't worry. She'll climb back up the rankings in a jiffy. Have you looked at the WTA top ten? One unreliable nutjob after another. Svitolina winning Rome? Muguruza retiring in the SF? It's a mess!

Azarenka is coming back for Wimbledon and Kvitova will be back too.

obviously. problem is we don't know which. which is why i advocated a
polygraph, administered by none other than james comey. :-)

> CAS ruled it that she was innocent and made a honest mistake and was unaware of the ban on that drug.

i'm talking about real innocence or guilt. not what some political
body decided.

>FBI and most intelligence agencies have concluded Trump and his men colluded with the Russians. Yet you do not doubt Trump at all.

1. i'm not sure they said this.
2. i'm not sure i see anything wrong with it.

> But in Maria's case you still doubt her when CAS has concluded she didn't intentionally do it. Hypocrite!

i don't care what "cas" concluded. she claims it was an accident.
others say it wasn't. we don't know. which is why i ALWAYS say the
same thing: if she did it intentionally, ban for life. if it was an
accident, no ban (maybe a small fine).

Svitolina is a nut job? She is young and really seems to have come into her own this year.
