At least Sampras does not consider a FO-W-USO combo superior to AO-W-
USO :)

I also like how he doesn't even have plain old 'writing' on his
walls....it's 'handwriting' for him! ;)

Rafa's 2010 was better in historical terms. Only way to better 2010 is
to win calendar slam.

Djoker's 2011 is probably the same as Fed's best yrs.

Yeah, I can't really agree with that. He didn't even win the showpiece "best
vs best in a concentrated format" tour final event.

Nice to see you disagreeing with Sampy for once though.

He still has to win the YEC.

No need. He beat Nadal multiple times, that makes it best year in Open Era.

I guess his lifetime shortly falls from 1969. Or 2010, or 2008.

IF, Nole wins the YEC and 2 more tournaments and what? 20some more
matches... then, yes, indeed it will be up there with Feds...

except Djoker had to play more difficult players and wasn't surrounded
by unpresidented media hype brainwashing all and sundry that he was
invincible.

I think after retiring , Sampras started to believe his own hype and
became
embittered and fat and someone told him this and how it isn't
healthy . So
naturally he went the other extreme and started to get involved in
tennis
and praise others effusely. Except in this case he is obviously
right, even if
Nole doesn't play this season it's already the most dominant with 3
slams and
5 masters and no legitimate losses.

This is essentially why a lot of the media (incl. Courier, McEnroe etc) are
saying Nole's year is the best ever/more impressive: look at the GOATs he
had to beat to win his slams, in contrast to winning slams against players
like Berdych, Soderling. Dominating GOAT #2 just adds to Djokovic's
phenomenal year.

All of England is unpresidented. Look to your own house first.

YEC - no check
12 wins - no check
and his 56 wins - not enough yet...

Nole still has time... we shall see...

AT the bottom line he won 3 Slams and some Masters 1000. But didnt't
reach all Slam finals. That's it. Yet he has to win some more including
the YEC.

Fed did it 3 times: Won 3 of 4 Slams, reached all finals, won YEC. More
impressive for sure.

In terms of the quality of opponents, no doubt - this is the best year
we have seen. He has dominated everyone thoroughly - including
blanking Nadal on clay - which some thought impossible (myself
included). But Nadal's 3 slams in 2010 are an easy choice over
Djoker's 3 this year (FO >> AO), and Fed's 2006 and 2007 are better
because he won the same slams plus the YEC, which Djoker hasn't won
yet...

Federer is clearly past his prime. why are any so called experts acting
like Joker has been beating Federer at his best this year? what a bunch
of idiots these former players are.
