Ferrer is hardly a kid. H just turned 29, quite old by tennis
standards.

True but I saw him with Pat Cash on CNN and he looked like a kid. He
has a very pretty girlfriend and appears very likeable. His game is on
the rise.

Ferrer could be a problem if Rafa gets to final...this semi is getting
too long and physical.

I really started liking more when I saw Ferrer sitting a couple rows
by me in Indian Wells. He was such a nice guy to fans, no ego, very
handsome. And he's totally ripped in person. He looks slight and small
on TV, but he looks fantastic in person. Seemed like a genuinely nice
guy.

Well, so far, Nadal IS having a problem with Murray!
Andy just won the second set 6/2...
In this second set
Nadal hit only 3 winners, made 18 UE
Murray hit 13 winners, made 19 UE

1/0 Nadal, Murray to serve, final set.

It looks like a done deal for Nadal against Murray. Ferre is another
thing. If Ferre can take a set from Nadal, he will not lose steam in
the third. He is just like Nadal, a super fighter. Should be a very
interesting final. Let the best man win...

Ferrer is a fighter but Nadal is the better clay court player and
better player overall. I think Nadal will win.

I think the last time Ferrer beat Rafa on clay was in 2004 (or '05) in
Stuttgart. And that was baby Rafa then and was still close, IIRC.

Ferrer will be happy if he gets more than 4 games.

I don't know about that, but, the money may make him happier. What is
the prize money for the finalist and runner up in this tournament? I
suppose I could go check myself but I am too lazy right now.

You seem to underestimate Ferrer. I believe Nadal will win but I
wouldn't be surprised if Ferrer won.

Ferrer says himself that he's confident and all who have watched his
matches say he's playing great. Could be a tough one and Rafa has to be
on top of his game to beat him easily...he has to be able to hit winners
a lot, long rallies with Ferrer may not be an option after this brutal
semifinal.

Rafa has indicated in his press conference today that he is feeling
"super tired." Maybe the fix is on for his good buddy Ferrer to win
this one, no? Why is Nadal admitting he is super tired? Weird. What is
the catch?

I think Ferrer will win the match tomorrow. It seems Nadal is tired
and feeling the effects of the flu, would be my guess.

He said that? Do you have a link for the whole interview script?

Maybe he's making excuses, taking pressure off. Maybe he's super tired
and is foolishly revaling it.

Or, best case scenario would be that he's making excuses for withdrawal
from Barcelona. Hope it's that.

Don't laugh, stranger things have been known to happen with Nadal. It
is not out of the realm of possibility. This whole tired thing today
could be the set up! :) Stay tuned.

Nadal seems to be less motivated with Federer taking an early out,
probably to avoid meeting up with Nadal. With all his talk about
Federer being the greatest, (I think Nadal is genuine in his
admiration of Federer), he is more motivated when playing against
Federer. Nadal’s game against Murray was just a so-so. If he plays
like that against Ferrer, Ferrer has a good chance.
