Similar situation to 2014 USO. If Roger gets past Raonic, he needs to be very vigilant.

So Fed will have Berdshit in the SF and then Cilic or Querrey in the final. I'll puke if he loses #8 to one of them!

Berdych has beat Fed at Wimbledon, eh?

Both could be very dangerous. Berdych is rested and he did beat Federer in Wimbledon and Olympics.

Cilic is a nightmare for Federer.

Good luck to Berdych this time.

Lately Fed has been creaming him though, hasn't he?

He seems like the most dangerous left in the draw to me as well.

Berdych will need Federer to have more off moments like today against Raonic in 3rd set to win. I don't think Federer will take Berdych easily and he will go hard on Berdych early in their match, what I am hoping for is for Federer to stay focus in the whole match rather than having this off spell in mid match that could make a straight set win into a tough four or five match.

Fed is 18-6 vs Berdych, last loss 4.5 yrs ago at Dubai. He has beaten
Berdych 7 times in a row incl twice this year. They are 1-1 at W.
Fed is 3-0 vs Querrey, incl 1-0 at W.
Fed is 6-1 vs Cilic, incl 1-0 at W. Only loss at USO 2014.

Last match against Berdych was awfully close, though. I just hope Roger does not take anyone lightly. I don't think he will. He badly wants this one.

Federer was tired, played too much

Do you think he retires after winning #8? Or maybe call it quits at the
end of the season?

I don't think so. Nadal and Djokovic are breathing down his neck in the legacy stakes. Plus, I think he enjoys playing tennis too much.

In the end, it all depends on Mirka, as Roger said. :)

I will answer this after he wins this Wimbledon :)

And USO (2012).

Cilic has looked good and he surely can play superb stuff - out of reach for 35y Fed?

I have to admit that Federer looks fit and fast.

Federer was in no shape to play Wimbledon last year.

Lord knows he's done it many times in the past....

Has he retired at least once in each major?

Fed needs to serve a high percentage of first serves in. Berd will go after his second serve.

Cilic did not look so good today. Querrey has a decent chance of taking him out.

If Fed plays as well as he did today, he is winning it. But he cannot afford to have a bad day at the office.

The rejuvenated Fed probably feels this is a good time to cement his
place in the Tennis Pantheon by winning a few slams more. I'd say he
should be the fave at USO too and has a decent chance at #1 if he plays
enough tournaments. Another YE#1, another YEC will help him get away from
Djoker and get past Lendl in #titles. I am sure he is aware of all these
milestones.
I think he will make a serious push next year and call it quits. It would
be great if he can retire as #1 but he can be excused to want to play on
if he gets to the top spot.
I also think the ATP will want to milk his retirement year to the max &
so would ask him to give a 1-year notice beforehand.

You probably should hold off on posts like this until Fed wins? I mean
he may lose in straights to Berdshit then above looks foolish.
