Nadal's draw in Paris:
R1 Paire
R2 De Minaur/Haase
R3 Simon
R4 Sock
QF Raonic/Dimitrov
SF Djokovic/Thiem/Goffin
F Murray/Wawrinka/Zverev

Tough draw. Paire first up will be a headache followed by Simon in 3rd and a possible loss against Sock in R16 If he makes it that far, the QF that is , he will face Dimitrov (remember ao semi?) And then winner of Thiem-Djokovic in semis. Nightmare stuff :-(

Men's potential R16

Murray-Berdych
Zverev-Nishikori
Wawrinka-Monfils
Tsonga-Cilic
Raonic-Dimitrov
Sock-Nadal
Thiem-Goffin
Pouille-Djokovic

Notable 1R match-ups:

[1] Murray vs Kuznetsov
[2] Djokovic vs Granollers
[3] Wawrinka vs Qualifier
[4] Nadal vs Paire

More blockbusters :

A.Zverev vs. Verdasco
Monfils vs. Brown
Fognini vs. Tiafoe
Nadal vs. Paire

Best of luck Rafa ~

Detailed info from Troll Tennis

With the 2017 Roland Garros set to kick off come Sunday, Troll Tennis previews the men's draw and will make some predictions.

First Quarter -

Top Seed : Andy Murray [1]
Projected Path - 1R •• Kuznetsov
2R •• Klizan
3R •• Delpo
4R •• Berdych/Isner
QF •• Sascha/Kei
SF •• Stan
F •• Nadal/Djokovic

It seems the gods of tennis have finally given the World No.1 a break with the tough draws... but does that matter given the form he's in? Murray seems to have a clear path till the 4th Round given that Delpo (his 3rd Round opponent) is struggling with shoulder issues. 4th Round against Berdych (or Isner) seems tough and Berdych must be burning up not having had a good result in a long while. Also, given that Murray's has himself struggled to create inroads on Clay this year, Berdych should give himself a good chance of taking Murray out. If Murray somehow does advance past this challenge, in the Quarter-Finals 2017 Rome Champion Sascha Zverev waits (mostly). That should be the end of the road for Sir Muzza.

Interesting 1st Round Matches : Sascha vs Verdasco

Upset Alert : Nishikori

Look Out For : Pablo Cuevas and Martin Klizan. The duo can cause commotion in what seems like a harmless draw.

QUARTERFINAL : Sascha def. Berdych

Second Quarter -

Top Seed : Stan Wawrinka [3]

Projected Path - 1R •• Qualifier
2R •• Berlocq/Dolgo
3R •• Fognini
4R •• Monf/Gasquet
QF •• Cilic/Kyrgios/Tsonga
SF •• Murray/Sascha
F •• Nadal/Djokovic

This seems to be the toughest quarter of the whole draw. In the 2nd Round, Stan could meet Dolgopolov who though has failed to be fit this year so far, is a dangerous opponent on the dirt. The problems for Stan only commence from here on if he makes it past Dolgo, mind you. 3rd Round vs Fognini, probably the most dangerous player to have not got a Top 16 seeding, if Fogna shows up then Stan the Man is in danger. On the other side of the quarter, 7th Seed Cilic must be cursing the draw makers, as he seems to be the recipient of a nightmare draw. Gulbis (former RG Semi-Finalist), Federico Delbonis, veteran Ferrer, home-hope Tsonga or Kyrgios - these are the opponents that Cilic will have to dump out (in succession!) just to make it to the QFs.

Interesting 1st Round Matches : Gulbis vs Cilic, Kohlschreiber vs Kyrgios, Brown vs Monfils, Fognini vs Tiafoe, Berlocq vs Dolgopolov

Upset Alert : Stan (anything less than a Semi-Final shall, honestly, be deemed an upset)

Look Out For : Ernests fookin' Gulbis, former RG Semi-Finalist, playing his 1st GS in about a year.

QUARTERFINAL : Tsonga def. Fognini

Third Quarter - Rafa Nadal [4]
Projected Path - 1R •• Paire
2R •• Haase
3R •• Simon/Troicki
4R •• Sock/RBA
QF •• Raonic/Dimitrov
SF •• Djokovic
F •• Murray/Stan

Seems like an easy draw for Rafa as he embarks on his toil for the elusive La Decima. 1st Round vs Paire should be tricky, with the Frenchman being arguably only second to Roger Federer (btw Roger, we'll miss you in Paris 😐) when it comes to raw authentic talent. But Paire also has a penchant for wasting it all, so this match is very unpredictable. After the 1st Round, all matches until Semi-Finals seem like a cakewalk given the monstrous form that Rafa is in.

Interesting 1st Round Matches : Nadal vs Paire, Carreno Busta vs Mayer, Sock vs Vesely

Upset Alert : Dimitrov, who after his Melbourne breakthrough had endured a bummer of a clay court season... look at his record at RG past 3 years, it could possibly get bummer-er.

Look Out For : Tommy Robredo, 5-time RG Quarterfinalist. Need I say more?

QUARTERFINAL : Rafa def. Carreno Busta

Fourth Quarter -

Top Seed : Novak Djokovic [2]
Projected Path - 1R •• Granollers
2R •• Sousa
3R •• Schwartzman/Mischa
4R •• Pouille/Ramos
QF •• Thiem/Goffin
SF •• Nadal
F •• Murray/Stan

The 2016 RG champ starts his defense campaign with a draw that seems lukewarm, and should've no problem making it to the 4th Round where he could face either Pouille or Ramos, but given his form at Rome these match-ups shouldn't be a problem for the reinvigorated Serb. The real trouble shall start from the Quarter-Finals where he faces either of Thiem or Goffin.

Interesting 1st Round Matches : Thiem vs Tomic, Pouille vs Bennetau, Qualifer vs Qualifier (C'mon, just look at the odds of such a match happening!)

Upset Alert : Thiem, who could face Mahut in 2nd and Johnson in 3rd.

QUARTERFINAL : Thiem def. Djokovic

Look Out For : Borna Coric, guy's too talented for us to not mention entirely.

SEMI FINALS : Sascha def. Tsonga, Rafa def. Thiem

FINAL : Sascha Zverev def. Rafa Nadal

Those are some dumb-ass predictions. Thiem def Djokovic and Zverev def Nadal?

Good luck with those predictions!

This is called reverse jinx. Somehow, couple of posters here strongly believe it works.

Seriously, this FO is Nadal's to lose. Only problem I see is injuries. Considering that he managed his health very well over a fairly long career, chances of that is very small. Also, he never really gets injured during the clay season (barring the bizarre withdrawal in 2016).

Ignore. It's Mr Reverse Jinx at work. He calls Rafa's draw very tough.
As always. Like StephenJ expecting Serena to lose to everyone.

He forgot Zverev faces Verdasco in the very first round, which could spell trouble. Now if Zverev disposes of Verdasco easily it will say something about his ability to back up his promise and perform under (the newfound) pressure.

He's got Verdasco in the first round and then perhaps cc specialist Cuevas in R3 I think? He doesn't have an easy draw. If the kid can make it to the final, it will be impressive.

Yes, but don't go there as they (Big Four members) have all had some easy draws and some tough draws. It doesn't invalidate their titles. A slam title is a slam title and they don't grow on trees.
