Halep cannot possibly think of winning Wimbledon hitting mid court short with loopy forehand. Glad the atrocity is over.

Konta turned it up end of the second tiebreak. Halep is too passive to be winning Wimbledon on her own terms. Kerber, when she was very successful last year, was doing a great job of transitioning defense to offense. Halep needs to emulate that.

That said, I think today was one of the best matches I have seen Halep play.

Kerber is a counterpuncher who hits flat. Halep is a retriever who hits loopy top spin shots. She should have still won this. She was too much chicken shit to win the second tie break

Feel bad for her. She seems to love the 'Tragedy Queen' title.
She lost the FO final to a 20-yr upstart being up a set & a break.
She loses the W QF being 2 points away from a straight-sets rout.

Konta served better despite serving many DFs. She also went more for
the corners and kept Halep on the run. The crowd support helped her
tremendously.

Halep isn't interested in winning a slam, she's like Birdman, the FO showed that. She likes getting to finals though, that's why she played so well in the Konta match - as you say, Jo really had to go for broke to beat her. Great match.
