Anyone else? Will face withdrawal tomorrow with no matches. Sad.

Congratulations. It's not easy to do that.

I wonder if he managed to make it to his daily movie at the cinema after
all that!

Especially with a pair of matches played simultaneously. :)

I've had the same full-time job for 23 years. It's just the type of job
that enables me to watch all WC matches. My job is so good I'd never
quit it, even if i won a $100 million lottery or something.

Actually, I haven't seen all of them 'live' - the last match played last
Friday I watched on replay as my wife and I were out at dinner. But I
made sure not to find out the score so i could watch it as if it was 'live'.

I've seen every WC match live since I became interested in doing so in
2002. Also very European Cup (country competition) match for at least
the last three, since 2008.

So you fell in love with football? (Raja will probably correct me
it's soccer)

You weren't a kid in 2002 so how did it happen?

I've only seen 9 movies in the cinema this month so far - rare for me
not watch at least 10 - and the WC has been a reason for that.

Last Friday I did tape one WC match and watched it later, because my
wife and i were celebrating, and part of that was seeing the new
"Jurassic Park" movie.

FWIW, here's what i've seen this month:

6.1.18: adrift ... (free) Rave II**
6.4.18: upgrade ... Rave II**
6.8.18: ocean's 8 (IMAX) ... Rave II**
6.12.18: the rider (i) ... Rave**
6.15.18: the incredibles 2 (IMAX) ... Rave
6.16.18: hereditary (i) ... Rave II**
6.19.18: book club ... Cinemark PR**
6.22.18: Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom 3D .. Movie Tavern
6.25.18: tag ... Rave**

You're right, as a kid and really well into my 30s i "hated" soccer.
Like most Americans was raised to see it is a dull, wimp sport played by
non-athletes. But once they started televising the major country
competitions extensively, I fell in to it and am hooked now. Soccer is
hypnotic, the tempo and rhythm draws you in. And i love the fan
interaction, e.g., in 2010 WCeveryone hated the vuvuzela's that the
south africans blew, but I loved them, they helped create a tempo to the
matches. I love when the hard-core british club fans start singing, etc.

I'm still not a total fan - can't watch MLS, the quality of play is too
low, and I don't watch all of the CONCACAF matches either. But the
European Cup, World Cup, major club matches in Europe, and the
Champion's League stuff I watch. Love watching the post-group Champion's
League matches, never miss any of those the past 10 years.

Nice stuff.

This hypnotic part is true combined with fans. I have followed Soccer always sporadically (usually WC/EC QF/SF/F stages) but any single match just can draw you in. It is just the perfect combination of team/individual/strategy/heroic stuff/spirit/luck put into one sport. And it that sport is its own drama.

I just watched 'The quiet place'. You seen it? Not bad, but probably
not as good as the reviews suggest. I'd give it 6.5.

I have a dual 27 inch monitor set up + 47 inch tv in my man cave -
something always on all 3 screens. I have it set up so I can view all 3
screens simultaneously. Also have a bar fridge & a futon & lots of fun
stuff. The wife brings me meals & snacks & cleans up after me. I love
my man cave.

Yes, saw it a couple months ago. Seems like we agree - i liked it but
think it was a bit over-praised by the media. A 6.5 not an 8.

That sounds like an awesome setup, especially the wife part, LOL. :)

I don't have more than two TVs in a room, but when American college
football is on in the fall, I bring two 22" laptops into my room so I
can watch four games at a time, LOL. :)

Yes, and compared to American sports, it's efficient. Unless the match
has to have a winner, you know it's going to be over in about 1:55
minutes, and it's refreshing to not have a running clock.

Liking soccer hasn't diminished my love of American sports at all - i'm
well aware it's now 60 days until college football starts and 69 until
the NFL kicks off, LOL - but it has had a fun dimension to sports
watching for me. Glad you get the same enjoyment.

The only reason I do not like American sports is because of frequent time out and non stop commercials. So freaking annoying. And some of these games like baseball and American football can be never-ending snoozefest.

The only sports I love are tennis and football. I do like F1 racing but havent followed it for a while. Same with volleyball!
