the finger shake is pretty gratuitous when isolated.
No, only you did that...

The finger shake is a modest mini celebration.
Like "whoopty doo". Nothing at all wrong with it, unless you are anal
retentive. :)
Contrast that to the over-the-top 'falling on knees' theatrics of
Nadal after his victory over Murray.
That is completely ridiculous! Only an asshole would think that. ;)
He did it after his win in MAdrid 2009 and you know what happened after
that ...
I hope Nadal doesn't get injured.
You will know it after the match if he lost.
Of course the FInger was arrogant, but if you want to be a great
champion you kind of have to have that in your makeup. Rafa, Djoker
are exactly the same.
the finger shake didn't bother me, he did it twice in match, and in
heat of game, i don't mind anything he does. he's a great competitor.
it's the excuse making after losses that runs weak.
bob
i suspect he is now going to find a way to stick that finger way up rafa's ass.
Fed is singing to Rafa...
I'm gonna shove ah this thing right up ah your ass I'm gonna shove ah this thing
right up ah your ass and send you on your way.
Yes Manco they all have that and it's OK. It's the Petko dance that is
outrageous.
yes, he's very much like sampras in that regard, at least sampras before
1999. like pete, he chokes on any words that indicate that the other guy
was just the better player that day. it's always about what he (fed)
failed to do.

And he is right. Only Fed can beat Fed. If Fed brings his A game, nobody
can beat him, as well as on clay!
it's flagrantly antagonistic. a few more matches like the 1 VS
sharapova might cure her of it.

fed, like the williams, always take that route.
don't believe sampras did it to nearly that extent. can you quote or
show clips of such? i don't recall ever seeing it.
bob
you're one sick sonovagun.
bob
pete did it so much that in 97-98 other players started calling him on
it, after which he adopted a much more humble posture and adopted an
"all credit to my opponent" script in the post-match interviews.

Always thought the finger wave is directed to Fed's own box: 'I told
you I can do it'.
Minimalistic, it respects a worthy opponent, a close match or the home
crowd.
(Soccer used to have something similar wayback, with the goal scorer
running)
