Easily: Nadal is no hard court player (His 3 Slams were lucky due to
mono). So lost to Lujbi wasn't a shame ...
You might have to wait for all the gloating to stop first.
I didn't see the match either.
No. Iowa beating Kansas?! Now *that* would be an upset.
I just finished watching the match (delayed coverage).
First match I saw from IW, and actually for some time. Now I don't
know if I forgot during these weeks how top tennis looks like, but I
thought this was lousy tennis.
I was interested to see how Nadal will play, I had read he has played
well. But I was very disappointed. Maybe it was the wind, but the
first set especially was awful. Errors, errors, aces, double faults,
errors, very dull to watch. 2nd set was best for Nadal even though the
score was worst. He at least played some good points here and there.
He had several break points, but didn't get the break. And then
Ljubicic broke in the end. After the 2nd set I started reading from
here that Ljubicic had won, so I was just waiting for the TB. Ljubicic
played a good TB.
Overall Ljubicic didn't play a good match. He made a lot of errors,
lot of the time it felt like he can't hit any balls on court. Served
OK, but he has served better many times. I was very disappointed with
Nadal, this seemed definitely a step back from AO. Only some isolated
good aggressive points. Still he should have won the match in two
sets. He must have played better earlier in the week though? Maybe he
has a mental block of winning a title already?
Thanks for the report.
Indian Wells never seems to produce scintillating play, maybe because
of less-than-optimal playing conditions?
Probably. Although this week people have said Baghdatis played great
and Nadal has played well and Berdych has played well for example.
What do people say about Nadal's play today vs. earlier in the week?
And I wonder what it is now, Federer and Nadal and Djokovic and Murray
are all playing badly, or they don't care about IW, or a combination
of these two?
I know. A fluky Slam won against mono Fed.
>I could not watch the match, but how did Ljubo manage back to back
>scalps of Djoker and Rafa, especially Rafa who has been playing very
>well? Post-match analyses would be highly appreciated!
It's easy to play well against qualies and the walking injured.
Rafa had a VERY easy draw. In fact, Lubo was supposed to be yet another easy
pickin but Rafa couldn't even handle the cakewalk to the final they laid out for
him. This is bad because eventually they will back another horse and Rafa will
be totally screwed.
Lubo has played Rafa tough before. Remember the 5 setter at madrid a few years
back? Lubo deserved to win that one too.
>Nadal has 1 HC slam - you can never take that away from him!!!!
Once can be an "accident" so it's not "official" until he has two pal.
Check the book of whisper.
I saw only the last couple of games. Ljobo's serve was pretty much
untouchable at that point. He also played a good TB. The DTL BH
finishing the 4th(?) point was a thing of beauty.
