Djokovic looks like the Terminator compared to how Fed and Nadal
looked today.
It would be fitting for the Djoker to win 3 slams this year given his
form to date.
If Fed doesn't win the U.S. Open it will be the first time in almost
10 years that he hasn't won at least one slam per year. Ouch!
It is just hard to imagine anybody else winning the USO but I suppose
anything can happen.
Re Federer and the first time in 10 years without a slam if he does
not win USO, ouch is right! But he is 30. My attitude is if he wins
another slam it is icing on the cake but I don't anticipate or expect
it.
If he doesn't win USO next slam chance will be 2012 AO. That's a full 2
years since last slam win.
Fed has a lot riding on USO for another reason. So far only 3 guys in
history have won a slam 8 yrs running - Borg, Sampras & Fed. He can
seperate himself from the pack with a win.
Rafa is already at 7, so he can join the 8 club next year & good chance
to get 9 straight given his youth.
I am curious as to what this mean in Whisperworld. To me it doesn't really
matter when you get your slams....less slams over a longer period...more
slams over a shorter period....who gives?
Close but no cigar, in fact he looks like the Alien...
Fed has not won a slam or M1000 this year. In fact there has already
been a year the last time he won an open tournament on that level.
But of course he did make RG final.
Yes. Fedfans want to think that as 1 year though.
actually there is kind of a "proper" slam/timeframe ratio IMO.
win them too fast - could be weak field.
win them too slow - could be you got a few just by hanging around.
win them over about 10 yrs - proves you were able to sustain greatness
over a good timeframe and beat a variety of challengers.
