....was the one let out by the Chilean miner Mario Sepulveda as the pheonix
pod bringing him up approached the surface.

Amazing scenes there all day today! Yay!

A psychologist was saying that he felt some local alcoholic drinks
would be in order for these men
before being transported up and out of the mine, both to tolerate the
trip to the surface (a breeze I would have thought)
but perhaps more significantly to deal with the attention when they
reach the surface.

Did they get the miners cleaned, shaved and dressed in new clothing
before bringing them up?!

I was not following this story and was wondering how they look that
clean if they were having dinner in a restaurant.

They've had communication and exchange of physical items for a few
weeks now. Some means of cleanup, and they all used new jumpsuits of a
special fabric for the rescue.

Oh, and for the Polanski fans here:

the trip to the surface was a concern, it was 700m's and not entirely
straight. When in the capsule they had heart rate monitors on,
sunglasses and an oxygen tank! plus it had a detachable bottom that
could be winched back down if it got stuck!
