Exactly. That is the only reason he is hauling his ass out to Asia.
Well that and the fact that he needs to keep his Asian fans (a huge
population) happy.

Yeah, those fans of his who like to make death threats...

He said that he's not concerned about ranking...while playing at
Shanghai. A typical spin from Fed which tells us that he thinks Djoker
will take the YE #1 despite Fed's points-whoring at MM-level...

First time in a long while that Mirka and the kids didn't accompany
him to a tournament.

Doesn't want his family seeing him point-whoring?

Last time Federer went to Asia, Mirka and the kids did not go if I
recall correctly. Don't blame her,Shanghai is a busy, overpopulated
dirty city for the most part.

So glad that Fed being the best player in the world again this year has had
the desired effect on you. Cry some more. :)

Also, "point-whoring"?? :) You have gone off David "vulture" Ferrer then!?
:))

"I'm from the future, go to China."

Actually, I liked Shanghai. Or maybe it was the Hot Pot restaurants.

What it is good for is if you want to buy some good quality knock-off
designer items--i.e. watches and handbags. There are a few places that
have good quality items if you know what you are looking for amongst
the many places that are crappy.
Plus, I acquired some other designer labels there in clothing that
were really inexpensive. There are these discount markets that go on
and on for miles, just one stall after another.

It's called stewing in your own juice. Here's some salt to rub into the wound: last year Nadal played both Tokyo and Shanghai, and the year before that, Tokyo, Shanghai and Thailand (250). Must have been a factor in breaking his knees.
