These fans who booed probably are not avid tennis fans. They probably
don't even know who Rafter is. They just came to watch an exciting match
of tennis. I have a feeling they probably didn't even realize that his
shoulder was bothering him that much. Maybe they thought that he was
tanking the match and gave up.
And yes, of course they would boo Sampras if he was in a similar
situation. Why would the press boo him at a press conference?
The same goes for Agassi and all the players. The players expect that
here. It is a tough crowd. I listen to a lot of interviews the players
do and they all seem to expect that, and actually get a kick out of it.
