Not only does he look the best but he plays the best as well.
The only thing stopping him from winning more slams than Sampras is
his temperament. I would take him to win maybe 5 more slams in his

Federer does have a sweet game. But your statement above defines Sampras more
than Federer. There are always exceptions when comparing anyone to Sampras,
whether it's temperment, serve, ground strokes, whatever. The point is that
Sampras was the most complete player of all time. Physical, mental,
motivational, proper upbringing, good coaching, a little luck...Sampras had it
all. An athlete like him only comes along once every century.

If this were really true he would have won Roland Garros. He didn't.

Yet he WINS!
That's the impressive part. Fed is winning slams against a bunch of top
talent compared to the bleak period of not much top talent that Sampras
faced. Sampras faced 1 Agassi throughout most of his career, the rest really
weren't much of a decent threat. Fed has to put up with prolly half a dozen
Agassis. And yet he dominates!

I'd be more impressed if he wins the USO and thus takes 3 this year. Winning
2 slams in a year isn't that rare. But winning 3 puts you in very elite
company.
