1994 BU ROUND ROBIN CLUB OPEN
Saturdays, April 16 and May 7, 1994
Boston University Sargent Gym, 1 University Rd, Boston MA 02215
Sponsored by Boston University Table Tennis Association
Sanctioned by the Unites States of America Table Tennis


Format: Round robin groups, ideal size of 7. Players will play every
other player in their group once. Matches are best two out of
three. Groups will be determined by current USATT ratings.
Unrated players are asked to give a good faith estimate of
their rating so that we may place you in a group in which you
will be competitive.

Prizes: Group A, 1st place $100, 2nd place $60.
All other groups, 1st and 2nd place receive trophies.
Every participant receives a free wooden keychain.

Entry Fee: The entry fee is $20 and a $3 USATT rating fee for each date.
BUTTA members are waived from the rating fees. BUTTA
membership is $15 for semester and includes eligibility for
intercollegiate play in the League of Northeast
Inter-collegiate Table Tennis (L-NITT) for BU students.

Eligibility: Entrants must be USATT or ITTF members, or purchase a USATT membership at the
tournament (1-year $20, 2-year $35, 3-year $50, junior
1-year $10 with TTT, $5 without TTT, family 1-year $35).
The USATT is the national organization for table tennis.
Members receive Table Tennis Today, the official
publication of the USATT. Members are also given a national
rating, which is published in TTT.

Rules: All USATT rules apply. USATT dress code will be enforced. If
in doubt, wear dark, solid-colored shirt and shorts. Tennis
shoes or sneakers.

Equipment: 8 Buttery Europa Tables, Each participant receives one
Nittaku 3-star white ball.

Facility: High ceiling, ample lighting, and hardwood floor, using
basketball court size half of the gym unto 5pm; 5 to 7pm be
using quadrant of gym with 4 tables.Showers on 2/F.
Food Court located conveniently across the street in the
George Sherman Union.

Deadline: Due to the number of tables, we will only be able to accept
42 entries. Entry will be closed when we reach the limit.
Entries received after the limit is reached will be
returned. Entries received without full payment are subject
to a $5 processing fee. Make check or money order payable to:

Check-in: All groups will begin play at 9:30 AM. You must check in at
the control desk at least 15 minutes prior to the start of
play (9:15 AM). The gym will open at 9:00 AM and close at 7pm


Tournament Director: Yat Siu Referee: Nelson Chin

The tournament committee reserves the right to change any rule or policy in
the interests of the tournament. The tournament committee reserves the
right to disqualify any player for bad conduct, ineligibility, or any other
reason.

Decisions of the tournament committee are final.

Direction:

>From South: take 93-N, take exit 26 onto Storrow Dr, take Kenmore exit on left, and 1st Right onto
Beacon St, bear right at the next 2 sets of lights going through Kenmore Sq (big CITCO sign on top
of BU Bookstore Mall on right side) onto Commonwealth Ave. Sargent Gym will be at the 4th set
of traffic lights, on the right, passed the George Sherman Union. Metered parking available on
Commonwealth Ave, and a parking lot at the Gym is available for a fee.

>From North: Take 93-S, take exit onto Storrow Dr, and follow directions above.

>From West: Take 90-W(Mass Pike), take Allston/Cambrige exit on left, onto Storrow Dr, and take first
BU exit on right, Sargent Gym will be the first bldg on your right.

By MBTA: From Park St, take Green Line B car to BU central. Gym is on the right one block ahead.
