Portugal is the new World Champion of Fut-Sal (minisoccer).

I just came back from Milan where the 4th World Cup of Fut-Sal took
place. Potugal beat Paraguay in the final. The score was 4-3 after the
penalty kicks (1-1 after overtime). In the semifinals Portugal beat
Bolivia, and Paraguay beat Brazil.
Congratulations to Portugal. It's the first non south american team to
win a WC, and that is a big achievement since the south americans are
considered the best in the world and have always won before.

How did we (USA) do? Not well at all. We lost all three games
(Colombia, Spain, England), and I am embarrassed to tell you the scores.
Maybe if you are interested I'll tell you how badly we lost. I played
all three games and I can only say that we where very inexperienced, and
they were much more skilful.

I don't think you recieved any news about the tournament here in the US,
they were scarce in Italy. Very little, if nothing, was written on the
paper. Only the final and the semifinals were televised on Tele+2, a
private station owned by Berlusconi (AC Milan owner).

Ciao
franco
