Russia 1 USA 0
55min
Konorin gets a yellow for diving in the box. It was probably more
like one of those incidents that are best left unsolved. Not really a
foul, but not really a dive either.

I get the feeling the USA players are holding back on challenges,
Russia shows some good inter passing, they seem more "into" the game.
Klinsmann looks cold

Bradley with a really well taken volley from just outside the box. A
few minutes earlier he had headed horribly a very good chance from
about 6 metres out

US got the equaliser by Bradley's shot off an assist by Agudelo with a
header (Guardian has a live ticker). But another bad giveaway/challenge
in the defense gave Russia a penalty which they converted. 2-1 to
Russia with a couple mins to go.

Super lucky jammy Yanks get the 2-2 around 90+3'
Boyd brings down a long ball and Diskerud (who's he?) put it in with
billiar deflections. 2-2 and we've stolen a point. Howard smothers the
ball for the last touch at 90+5'

Deserved or not, another point for Klinsmann era USA this year.
Apparently the best year ever for the US Nat team?

It's a Europa League group K goal! Rapid and Rosenborg
players involved. :)
I had had no idea that Diskerud was a US player, though.

Norwegian with an American mother. He played U20 for us in 2009 and for the ill-fated U23 earlier this year. Moved to Rosenborg a few months ago.

It was nice to see the return of Capello's disappointed face.

US Soccer said it ties the record at 0.75 winning percentage, but the
2005 side of partial Copa America fame had more wins.
