In a bold move the RSS Ice hockey league original six have expanded to
7 teams! Now, is this going to weaken the original 6 teams? And why
only one expansion team?

though the second round is still a free round (you get to pick a new
team again for rounds 3-4) where you really do not have an advantage
to pull a Homer, I have. 75% of my players are St Louis and
Philadelphia players, I just cant help myself, like Homer I have to
put everything down on that one number.

It looks like QuyonBob's strategy of picking defenders with long names
worked for her last night?

OK, so far the Homer strategy does not look like the pure genius it
really is ( tho Phla just scored as I am typing), but I am hoping I
get one point out of the first round of games??!?!!??!!?

Phla scores again, but who the hell are these guys scoring the
points??????

Phla may not be everybodys favourite team, but their games are
entertaining.

Like all things Homer -the Simpsons character not the Greek guy- the
Homer strategy is half assed, Phla look like a good pick, but St.
Louis looks like they will go out in 4 games?

Phla may not get any shots on goal, but they still seem to win.

I know, right?

The guys I dropped after round 1 started to score. The ones I add, stopped
scoring (I'm looking at *you*, Giroux). The ones I kept, are injured or
suspended for missing curfews! And now even Elliott stopped winning games.
WTF?

Oh, and I'm calling the Kings to win the whole thing.

No. For starters, we get the NHL on ESPN here, from a diversity of original
feeds. NBC, The Network once Called Versus, TSN, any of the regional
networks etc. But even when the original broadcast is from CBC, the
intermission features give way to the Brazilian guys' comments in the local
studio.

(We do have access the original feed audio, just not during the
intermissions).

Oh, I know. But I thought that he's good for a few laughs as long as you
don't take him seriously?

What's wrong with that Giroux fraud? Dude can't score to save his life!

Not to mention that Elliott guy. A cone would stop more pucks than he does.
A cone!

I don't think they will win it all -- this is a rerun of 2004. An
uninspiring western conference team coached by Darryl Sutter knocks off
all three division leaders on their way to the final . They do this by
playing an over-physical style using their size advantage. But they
come up just short in the final.

Why oh why did I not pick Doughty as my star defenceman!

And Berglund, what a loser.

Good point, although to be fair the Flames got really close in the
2004 finals. It could have gone either way, and they were a bit
unlucky.

Let's see what happens. I was half-joking when I called the Kings to
win the Cup, but who knows? It looks like they'll meet the Coyotes in
a conference final hardly anyone predicted. Despite being seeds #3 and
#8, these teams were only 2 points apart in that wild Pacific Division
stretch drive. So, it's not hard to picture the Kings repeating the
Flames did, knocking off all the division leaders. Once in the
finals... well, it's not like any of the 4 Eastern Conference teams is
particularly inspiring either.
