Spain 0 - 0 Russia 80min
Just tuned in to the game, so I barely have enough time to Scout,
Fantasy picks. Why do I bother, that Andrea chick probably already
picked them all anyhow?

I think Spain is the favourite for this cup? So a good result if the
Russian hang on, this is the tougher group, with Germany and Holland
the other two, who play after this.

And no sooner then typing that,Spain score, Morata eh? I wonder if
he has been picked yet?

Spain win 1-0 and the stats are very lopsided in Spain's favour.

It looks as if it was classic Spanish tiki-taka, with more than 70%
possession. But in the end they scored on a set piece. Beautiful
delivery by Thiago Alcantara (already picked in FS by someone)

He looks to be the only Spanish player who is not a generic midget, so I
don't think he has much of a future in the NT.

So, apparently all 10 outside players have already played for the
senior side? So that means, none of the Dutch players are probably
eligible anymore?

On the other side , I think I already have picked Rudy and Lassogga?

Rudy gets taken out with a hit that the Boston Bruins would be proud
of and not even a foul????

I am not sure if the referee is Blind or a Dutchman named Blind, but
he is letting them foul at will.

And now the referee takes down a German player outside of the box as
he is about to shoot!?!?!?!? He really did!

Dutch hanging on for now, frickin wooden shoe wearing, pancake eating,
coffee shop smoking, country full of Dikes bastards!

There's only two things I hate in this world. People who are
intolerant of other people's cultures and the Dutch.

The referee should join the WWF wrestling road show and the Dutch kids
should look at a career in the NHL. Terrible hits and fouls and the
ref is oblivious to them.

Holtby 2-2.

Dutch should have been up by 3 or 4 goals at the half, but it's been all
Germany in the second half. This has been a classic German display,
perfectly suited for the Standard Commentary Form:

I would say it started before that. J Kli with his Transcendental
Meditation, though, not necessarily a bad thing, it was probably more
suited for a tennis player or chess player, not a football player.
Then came J Low, with his scarves, fashion scarves and wonderful
designers, such as they are, just dont work at all. I like scarves
myself, you need them when you live on an iceberg, but they just dont
seem to help you win football matches? I do like J Klo though, how
he runs around like a madman on the sidelines, his extroverted
personality, his teams fighting spirit - Look at the Malaga comeback-
he is the guy who should be in charge now.

That or just stop with the whole "J" thing. It was fun for a while,
but now, maybe they need a Christian or Sepp or Felix?

Crazy Dutch Bastards vs Commie Russian Bastards
0-0

Pol Pot and his 23 year old Dutch senior team are back at the chopping
block.

At least the Russians are attempting to attack this game, not that it
will help them vs these giant Dutch choppers.

Two games today mean nothing.
Holland v Spain
Germany v Russia

Firstly i will make excuses for the Germany kids. Like the England
team, Germany did not bring their good U-21 players, they mostly play
for the Senior team or are not playing? Where was Emre Can for
example?
Outside of Rudy and Holtby it was mostly actual under 21 kids.
Unlike Pol Pot and his 23 year old 30 senior caps U-21 team of Mark
van Bommell clones. They will beat Spain up today, both on the field
and on the score board, unless they have a proper referee.

Aye. He's much younger than the rest, though. Most are 90/91 vintage,
he's 94. This U21 wasn't that bad, there are plenty average Bundesliga
players in it. Noteworthy eligible players missing are:

ter Stegen 92
Schuerrle 90
Draxler 93
Guendogan 90
Goetze 92

Beister 90
Of course Beister is nowhere near the above players, but he was a
regular scorer for the U21. Not sure why he was not taken along (but
numpties like Mlapa and Polter who can't score nor assist were), but I
am glad that he won't need extra time off. Mind you, there were reasons
to leave him behind (lack of playing time, sub par season).

So he was, along with Sead Kolasinac, another player I would think
should be playing?

In the other match a bunch of players you never heard of played and it
ended 2-1 for Germany

These new fangled German teams full of Sebastians, Kevins, Lewises,
Olivers Antonios and Patricks will never live up to past generations of
Jürgens, Bernds, Fritzes, Franzes, Gerds, Dieters and Karl-Heinzes.

Of that list of "traditional" German names, there was one Bernd on the
entire roster. Amazing how times change

I hope Patrick Funk never puts on too much weight, otherwise he will get
the nickname Rundfunk.

In the 90s it was "Oliver", many of them... there were even articles
about it at the time.

"Rundfunk"... that was good! :-)
