This is pretty crazy. Aren't any of these new galacticos worried about
playing time?

Probably not after a Dutch house cleaning.

Many many bargains surely available now in the Bernabeu summer garage
sale. Pay attention Benitez!

Heh! You may be onto something. If they *really* wanted to sell
jerseys....

Well, I think these players don't want to leave Madrid and there's no way to
force them to...

True, hence doing *Winston Bogarde*
For those of you who need clarification, Winston was a Champions League
winner with Ajax, twice La Liga champion with Barcelona, capped 20 times by
Holland. Obvious ralent, but a move to Chelsea saw him signed by Vialli who
was sacked a matter of weeks after Winstons signing, only for Ranieri to
deem Winston surplus to requirements even though a matter of weeks into his
Chelsea career, if sold no wage would compare to what Chelsea offered him,
so he stayed 5 season honouring his contract playing 11 games, with no
serious injuries.

For some reason I can see many of the Madrid team doing the same!!!!

But a lot of these Madrid players have international careers to
consider too. I don't see any one of them except perhaps RVN willing
to jeopardise that just for the salary at RM.

At the very least some of the younger ones must be available on loan.
Madrid have always been good at letting developing players go to other
teams to get playing time (thinking Portillo, Jurado, Soldado, De la
Red, Javi Garcia and others in recent years; they also let Morientes go
out on loan to Monaco when it was clear he would not play much).

And are defensive players prohibited from being considered
'Galacticos'? If I'm throwing suitcases of cash around, I'd definitely
try aiming one at someone like Felipe Melo and/or Maicon.

'Defensive players don't sell T-shirts' is one of the most (in)famous
quotes by F. Perez.

Seeing it arrayed like this, all the moves, is mind boggling. 5 of the
6 best midfield players in the world will be on the field at the same
time. I wish someone carried the Spanish League on US television. FSC
should swap it for the increasingly boring Italians.

What I can't wrap my mind around is how in the hell is Real going to
pay for this. They could sell a shirt to all 40 million Spanish
citizens and still not come close to financing this binge.

The problem is Madrid spent nothing on defense. At least Barca
splurged on Alves last year. The comment that Real should now go after
Maicon is spot on. The last piece.

BTW, the final score of the Classico 6-6 draw.
