Comments:
Vit. Setubal - F.C. Porto : 3 - 3
When after 30 minutes of game F.C. Porto was wining by 0-3 it looked like they
had won the game. Well Vit. Setubal decided to prouve otherwise by pulling out
an extraordinary recuperation. They scored the 1-3 before half-time and then in
the second half managed to equalize. A very pour performance by the referee
which harmed the two teams but F.C. Porto has more reasons to complain. Two
goals by Kostadinov this way equalizing Yekini in the top scorers list ( 16
goals ).
Sp. Braga - S.L. Benfica : 0 - 2
Very pour performance by Benfica. A goal by accident ( well almost ) in the
very end of the first half and then a slightly better second half. Sp. Braga
was not up to the level of Benfica that thus did enough to win the game. Goals
by Isaias and Ailton.
Sporting C.P. - Gil Vicente : 6 - 0
Easy game for Sporting. Gil Vicente did not try to defend to much and played
the game for the game, specially after conceeding the first goal scored by
Vuyacik ( spelling anyone ? ) . Two goals by Juskowiak, two by Balakov and one
by Figo . Balakov is now Sporting best scorer with 11 goals.
In the other games Boavista lost against Belenenses and saw Vit. Guimaraes (
win at Est. Amadora ) and Maritimo ( win against Famalicao ) approaching
dangereously. These three teams should compete for the two european places
although Salgueiros, Gil Vicente or even Est Amadora might be dangerous
outsiders. However I would place my bets on the first three.
As relegation is concerned Estoril situation is getting worse. I would be very
susprised if given the games remaining for Estoril they could add up more then
10 points ( and this is a very generous offer ). So they would end up with
about 23 points. This should be insuficient for escaping relegation. Famalicao
given that it only has four more games at home is also in a difficult situation
although not as desesperate as Estoril. For the rest, well I am not a fortune
teller ... wish I was :-)
