Group A - November 6 2012 Team P W D L GD Pts
1 FC Porto 4 3 1 0 4 10
2 Paris St Germain 4 3 0 1 8 9
3 Dynamo Kiev 4 1 1 2 -2 4
4 Dinamo Zagreb 4 0 0 4 -10 0
Porto and PSG are as good as qualified
Group B - November 6 2012 Team P W D L GD Pts
1 Schalke 04 4 2 2 0 3 8
2 Arsenal 4 2 1 1 1 7
3 Olympiacos 4 2 0 2 0 6
4 Montpellier 4 0 1 3 -4 1
Still 3 teams with a chance.
If both Schalke and Arsenal win at home next matchday they are
through. Arsenal should beat Montpellier at home, but Olympiakos might
be a tougher game. Lets say a fraw for Schalke, then they must get at
least a draw v Montpellier. Of course if olympaikos wins both games
they are through and Arsenal could be knocked out, assuming both
Schalke and Arsenal beat Montpellier.
Anyhow, it is still open enough for me to not project a winner in
this group. though polls say 94% of Lily White Spurs male fans between
the ages of 16 to 65, think Olmpiakos will win both games. (Yeah i
was watching CNN last night during the election, actually I was
switching around the channels, just to watch the different
projections, like Fox always had Romney with a bigger lead vs CNN)
Group C - November 6 2012 Team P W D L GD Pts
1 Malaga 4 3 1 0 7 10
2 AC Milan 4 1 2 1 0 5
3 Anderlecht 4 1 1 2 -3 4
4 Zenit St Petersburg 4 1 0 3 -4 3
Malaga are through! Take that Man City! First year! You assume Milan
will advance , but not going to make any projections in this group
yet.
Group D - November 6 2012 Team P W D L GD Pts
1 Borussia Dortmund 4 2 2 0 2 8
2 Real Madrid 4 2 1 1 3 7
3 Ajax 4 1 1 2 -2 4
4 Manchester City 4 0 2 2 -3 2
We project that Man City will not advance. Projections show, Dortmund
and Madrid qualifying to the next round.
Group E - November 7 2012 Team P W D L GD Pts
1 Shakhtar Donetsk 4 2 1 1 2 7
2 Chelsea 4 2 1 1 4 7
3 Juventus 4 1 3 0 4 6
4 FC Nordsjaelland 4 0 1 3 -10 1
Shaktar really did not deserve to lose today, in fact they should have
won. And that is just not according to our polling of lily white male
spurs fans.
Juve have the tougher two games to play, but they never lose, but two
draws will not be enough. Too early for projections here.
Group F - November 7 2012 Team P W D L GD Pts
1 Bayern Munich 4 3 0 1 5 9
2 Valencia 4 3 0 1 6 9
3 BATE Borisov 4 2 0 2 -1 6
4 Lille 4 0 0 4 -10 0
I am just going to go with the early results and project bayern and
valencia as qualifying.
Group G - November 7 2012 Team P W D L GD Pts
1 Barcelona 4 3 0 1 3 9
2 Celtic 4 2 1 1 1 7
3 Benfica 4 1 1 2 -1 4
4 Spartak Moscow 4 1 0 3 -3 3
Are the Human Growth Hormones wearing off? everyone can still qualify,
but we will say Barca have qualified and it is too close to call the
second qualifier.
Group H - November 7 2012 Team P W D L GD Pts
1 Manchester United 4 4 0 0 5 12
2 Galatasaray 4 1 1 2 -1 4
3 CFR Cluj 4 1 1 2 -1 4
4 Braga 4 1 0 3 -3 3
Are Man U the only team that have won all their games? Granted it is
an easy group, but still, that is impressive for a team that can
barely string two passes togethor? I guess buying the leagues top
scorer is a good strategy, no matter how much grey hair he has.
Not even going to attempt to project a second place team in this
group.

Arsenal's record in Eastern Europe is absolutely diabolical, but generally speaking, Wenger plays a weakened line up... his arm will be forced this year, unless Arsenal and Schalke are already through...
Hypothetical
Arsenal v Montpellier
Schalke v Olympiacos
Arsenal should beat Montpellier which will mean the Germans v the Greeks is essentially a knockout... with the winner take all... why? See below...
Olympiacos v Arsenal
Montpellier v Schalke
Arsenal have a horrid record in Greece, actually away in general, but rest assured, Montpellier will be absolutely up for the Schalke match, especially with what happened in Germany between the coaches...
Predicted table
Arsenal 13
Schalke 11
Olympiacos 6
Montpellier 4

I tried to do the same, but the hotel cable package didn't carry Fox News. Never thought I'd be sorry to not have Fox News available! ;)

Facts are often inconvenient for today's Republican party, that's why
they prefer making up their own. They are currently all undergoing a
phase of manic depression mixed with panic and soul searching, it's a
beautiful time :-)

I read (dunno if these facts are true or finalized yet)
1) this makes 5 out of the last six elections where the GOP has lost the popular vote for President.
2) The democrats actually had more of the popular vote in the House of Representatives election - in spite of the poor yield of seats. Is their vote really that inefficient, or is the gerrymandering really that bad, or what ?

Well, the winning President won the popular vote in 5 of the last 6
elections, only exception being Gore in 2000. Since 4 of those 5 were
Democrats, you are correct about the popular vote winning trend:
Clinton, Clinton, Gore, Bush, Obama, Obama.

I think it just implies that overall Democrats won their seats
healthily, while Repub victories were closer, very generally speaking
of course.
One shocking fact this year: Romney won less of the Mormon vote than
Bush did last time!

But as usual the Dems won 100% of the dead person vote.
