My two cents (you are invited to post your opinions!):
- Odd: Xavi is the only best player, but he is tied as best
midfielder.
- For the first time, the best player is not the best attacking player
in the UCL winning team. Nor the UCL top scorer (in the previous three
seasons these two definitions designed the same player). But this was
a WC season, and a player from the winning team won; not the top
scorer (Villa), though.
- As usual, silverware won: other than Xavi (who won La Liga as well),
Spain have Casillas. Maicon and Sneider won UCL and Serie A. Messi won
La Liga.
- In the first three seasons of the award, only one player won twice:
Vidic as defender (06-07, 07-08). This term, three players repeat
themselves: Casillas (07-08), Xavi as midfielder (08-09), Messi
(08-09).

Completely off-topic, but just because you're here: it seems I had my
best Fantasy Scout week to date. :-)
Tchau!

Yep! And I'm happy of it: you know, you are *the first scout*, and
above all without you Fantasy Scout would have aborted, there would be
no game now.
I've updated the data ( http://fantasyscout.altervista.org/ ) and of
course your rank is starting to improve (Pato+Neymar+Hernanes!), but
this round of friendlies seems to have been good for Daniele too, and
for the usual couple Enzo & MH... well, pretty much for everybody but
me!

Even I picked up points from players other than Michel Bastos! Here's
to a long healthy career for Jack Wilshere, for more reasons than one.

Indeed you pretty much suck if in the predicted ranking if you are
between two clueless scouts like me and Daniele! ;)
(Sometime I'll proclaim Daniele the first Fantasy Scout martyr, since
he's suffering so many insults by me.)

Agreed.
As Walcott's reserve.

I have only two words for you: Joe Hart.
I mean, did you see his performance against Tottenham? Isn't it obvious that
he's going to be England's no.1 for the next 10-15 years? Or, to be precise,
he would be England's no.1 for the next 10-15 years, were it not for the
crippling injury that he will suffer within the next six months that will
basically end his career.

It would be a wise move by Capello to alternate between them: one plays one
match, the other one plays the next. Under no circumstances, though, one
should come in as a sub for the other.
On the other hand, I liked Prandelli's strategy of giving Amauri and
Borriello one half each. In the 4-2-3-1 the central striker has to run a lot
and gets tired easily, hence substitutions are welcome and necessary.

I should make you a t-shirt: "I Hart Fantasy Scout".

No, Prandelli is getting it all wrong. We are Italy, why bother
playing strikers at all? Our force is defense, and we should pack the
team with the likes of Criscito, Dossena, Galloppa, Maggio, Motta and
Nocerino. Add Montolivo because otherwise some pundit would complain
about the lack of imagination (Cassano as a second source of it is
OK), and the team is ready.

There is nothing to like when Borriello is picked. He is a dreadful
footballer. As one journalist wrote he has the mobility of a Sherman Tank.
