While lots of ink gets spilled about Ribery possibly moving to Real or
elsewhere, other things are going on in Germany. Some highlights (wie
immer, ohne gewhr):

Bayern - according to kicker have signed left MF Daniel Pranjic, to add
to Olic, Braafheid, Tymoschuk and Gomez. Lucio is angry and may be
surplus to requirements, as are Borowski, Ottl and Lell (and surely Van
Buyten as well ?). New signing from Gladbach Baumjohan is already
injured and needs surgery. Toni's days may be numbered as well if the
first choice strikers are Gomez and Klose. Some bargains to be had ?

Bremen - interested in getting Borowski back, but may not be able to pay
the price. have signed Marko Marin. Frank Baumann has retired. Carlos
Alberto (out on loan) maybe coming back

Gladbach - have signed Bobadilla (boca ?), Marx (Bielefeld) and now
Arango from Mallorca, the venezuelan star. Michael Frontzeck, fired by
relegated Arminia last year, is the new coach. Why ?

Leverkusen. rolfes is injured and needs op. Helmes is also out right
now. Heynckes new coach. Theo Gekas is returning.

Hoffenheim. Simunic is joining their defence. Didn't know he was an
Aussie, too. rated top central defender in BL by kicker last year (and
only internationale klasse for winter 09)- why would Hertha let him go ?

HSV - have just picked up evergreen Ze Roberto.

Dortmund - have picked up Rangelov from Cottbus, and a few others.

Very good question. I don't like Frontzeck very much; he ruined
Alemannia Aachen (my #2 team after Eintracht) before his time in
Bielefeld. But the Gladbach fans in drsf (German football newsgroup)
seem optimistic...

Hoffenheim can pay more, Hertha has a lot of debts. Hertha will probably
fall apart.

Eintracht - not much activities so far. Michael Fink (DM; one of our
best players last season) leaves to Besiktas. Four other players also
leave: Inamoto, Ljubicic, Krk, Kweuke. None of them was in the starting
XI, but Kreso Ljubicic is the most talented one among them. He is a
Croatian U21 player (but born and raised near Frankfurt) and he goes to
Hajduk Split now in order to increase his chances for the Croatian NT.
He need playing time and for him, it was probably the right decision.

New: Ralf Fhrmann (Schalke, keeper of the new German U21 team), Maik
Franz (CB, Karlsruhe) and Selim Teber (MF, Hoffenheim). We are still
looking for a DM. Marcel Heller (FW) returns from a loan to Duisburg.
And some youth players were promoted to the Bundesliga team. Among them,
Sebastian Jung is the most talented one.

New coach: Michael Skibbe (Dortmund, Leverkusen, Galatasaray) replaces
Friedhelm Funkel after 5 years.

Also actively pursuing Bosingwa. Strange that, Bosingwa is one of the
better right backs in the world; why would Chelsea let him go ? And if
so, why would Bayern be first in line?
