Buffon won the WC and 2 Scudettos. Casillas won the EC, 2 UCLs, and 4
La Ligas. Seeing how it is hard to differentiate them on ability, the
nod has to go to Casillas.

No argument.

Not at CB. Nesta, Puyol, Lucio, Ferdinand all have stronger claims.

No argument.

I would select Roy Keane here, though Makelele is a strong pick.

It's between him and Xavi, very tough call.

No argument.

Here's the problem: It's VERY hard to justify the exclusion of
Ronaldinho. Seeing how C.Ronaldo is a more complete and stronger
player, I think Messi should drop to the bench in favor of Ronaldinho.

> LW: Cristiano Ronaldo

Cant leave him out.

> ST: Ruud Van Nistelrooy

Very very tough. Other candidates: Shevchenko, Raul, Henry, Ronaldo.
Shevchenko became a eunuch overnight so he's out. Raul had a very
pedestrian spell for almost 3 years at a peak age so that disqualifies
him IMO. Henry was superb, as was Ronaldo, but the latter spent too
much time on the sidelines. I'd pick Henry here, unless the team plays
two strikers in which case RVN might make the cut.

These are always fun.

If it's 4-2-3-1, the formation of choice these days apparently, I'd
go:

I'd remove Carlos from the team, move Maldini to left-back, and put
Hyypia in as a center back.

Vieira for me.

Ronaldinho over Messi for me.

Henry over RVN for me.

Cannavaro? Thuram carried him at Parma, carried him at Juve as well. As
with John Terry the national team captaincy gives him a free pass. He's
way, way below Nesta, Maldini, Puyol and Ferdinand. And Cafu is an
equally poor choice. He's got the hardware but he's nowhere near as good
as Maicon of Danny Alves. Pirlo shouldn't be on this list nor Makelele.
Gattuso is obviously the best DM of the decade. I wouldn't have Messi on
this list either. Ronaldinho had 4 incredible years at Barca, won the
World Cup and Confed Cup.

So let's try (4-4-2)

Casillas

Roberto Carlos
Puyol
Nesta/Ferdinand
Maicon (feel there are probably better choices, even if he's the best
at the moment)

Ronaldinho
Xavi
Gattuso
C Ronaldo

Henry
Ruud

Realize I'm playing around with positions a bit and it's more of a
4-2-2-2 with Ronldinho and C Ron playing as wingers, but like the idea
these players on the field together.)

He is a strong candidate for that title but not the only one. Roy
Keane was more influential and a great leader to boot.

Last decade yes but not this one.

No way is Gattuso a great DM. He can hardly kick the ball.

He's just a great team motivator and tackler, nothing more.

Milan are doing great without him.
