A: Pick one of the 100 most-capped players (no goalkeepers) in the
history of Italian national team.

B: Ok, I pick Gianluca Vialli.

A: Perfect. If you tell me which is his goals/caps ratio, I'll tell
you which is his position in the goals/caps ranking. *Without looking
at the data of the other players*.

B: He has 59 caps and 19 goals, so his ratio is 0.27.

A: Then he is the 22nd player or so in the goals/caps ranking.

B: He is 23rd! How have you done it?

A: I used the following formula:
rank=e^[(ratio-0.8811)/-0.1973]

End.

post scriptum I: The formula for the 85 most-capped Brazilian players
is:
rank=e^[(ratio-1.0074)/-0.2341]

post scriptum II: e is 2.71828182845904.
