Unofficial RSS Player of the Season

So, this is a poll where you have to write the best player of the
season for each of these position:
- Goalkeeper
- Defender
- Midfielder
- Forward
- Overall
This is not the official poll I suggested some time ago

so the rules are simple:
- To vote, simply reply to this post.
- Approval voting: you can vote more than a player (e.g. three best
goalkeepers, or two best player overall), and each of them will in any
case have one point.
- It would be strange to vote best player overall a guy that you
haven't voted as the best in his position...
- Deadline: 23th of July, 23:59 GMT.

Can't disagree with any of these picks. I would also give a special
award to Messi for replicating both of Maradona's most famous goals
with his dribble past five Getafe players and his own Hand of God
moment against Espanyol.

I am going to assume that everyone who voted for Kaka as player of the
season really meant Peter Crouch.

I'm curious to know how many votes would Kaka have had Liverpool won
against Milan (I myself would have voted Kaka anyway).

Probably fewer. By most accounts he had a poorer season in Serie A
than usual.
Still, I would've voted for him. He was by far the best player in the
Champions League and that wouldn't have changed even if Liverpool had
won.

Disclaimer: This season (more than previous ones) I have mostly watched
EPL and very little of the other leagues' and UCL/UEFA Cup action. So, my
votes are solely from EPL.
