I wasn't aware its the "best" 32 teams world wide.
If it were the "best" 32 you would have 29 UEFA Teams + Argentina +
Brazil + One other.
It's ok for me that is isn't like that.
That is how they bill it. I agree the host nation should be in but as
for the rest it should be changed. Groups should be world wide
groupings not by federations. for example, teams like australia and
new zealand should be in groups that have Germany or Itlay or Brazil.
The structure is flawed and we see results like yesterday where by
France had to be handed quakification over by FIFA.

You don't think maybe the clue is in the title: *WORLD* Cup???

Yes, World Cup. Only the best should be at the World Cup. The World
Cup is not the Olympics were everybody should be invited. I'm just
saying world wide grouping may eliminate what happened in France
yesterday.
If you have to ask that question then you know nothing about football.
Haha, Australia have been further than Russia in a World Cup, and currently
with our Out-Standing 3-0 victory over a full strength Irish team in Ireland
mereley a month ago I can say Australia deserve to be there ahead of the two
nations. Sorry to point that out, i am sure it will rile you!!!
Australia seek Italian redemption!!! I will pray we get drawn into your
group, and pray and pray,
Listen, you couldn't rile me even if you paid for it. I hope you get
your wish and get drawn it our group. As a fan of Italy a weak nation
like yours will make our qualification out of the group stage that
much easier. Yesterday Italy fielded a much weaker team against a
Swedish team missing only one regular and won the gane anyways. I look
foward to the next WC. As for Australia...... do you really believe
you guys have a chance of winning the Cup???? Really.... do you?
What is the bar by which we measure who is the best and who isn't?
FIFA rankings? Your own personal opinion?
What Did Sweden have to play for? A warm up for next Septembers Euro
qualifiers?
Why not? We deserve our qualification, and more importantly now, WE ARE IN
IT TO WIN IT.
You still havn't told me what makes Russia or Ireland deserve a spot ahead
of Australia....
Also dont think I hate Italy, I just want redemption, someone new needs to
win, not the same teams over, and over, and over!!!
Russia and Ireland are better teams. Plain as day. Yes, the same teams
win all the time. Why do you think that is??? It is because teams like
Brazil, Italy and Germany are the best. In my opinion, Brazil will win
the next world cup. They are just too strong. they can easily field 3
teams that can win. Italy is good but the new guys are too young for
this world cup. I see a German - Brazil final. Italy should make it to
the semis with argentina but that is as far as those two teams will
go. As for your Australia....... rather boring team. Not too much
talent there. Good luck anyways. But, really, you guys have no chance.
> Australia seek Italian redemption!!! I will pray we get drawn into your
> group, and pray and pray,
Redemption for what? Failure to take the match to penalties after being
comprehensively outplayed by an Italian side that were reduced to 10 men
due to a complete bullshit red card? And this after the Japanese were
robbed of a stone wall penalty at 1-1 in the final group game.
Conveniently forgot about that one didn't you? What goes around comes
around. Australia haven't got a prayer of beating even this second rate
Italy side, let alone the side from 2006 and unless you draw Italy in
the groups you won't get far enough to play Italy and that's not even
mentioning the fact Australia have NO BUSINESS qualifying as an ASIAN
team. You weren't screwed, you sucked and you were beaten by the better
team. That they cheated is irrelevant, you cheated against the Japanese.
This had better be the last I hear on the issue or I'll keep reposting this.

Just speaking for Russia:
-Russia has over 3 millionen registered football player.
-Russia has stars like Arshavin in their team.
-Russia spanked a strong Netherland team in the last EC. You really
think Australia would even dare dreaming about just thing?
Upon seeing the replay, the referee actually apologized after the
Japanese goal, there being a clear foul on the goal keeper.
As for Australia not having a prayer, every team has a chance in every
match, excepting perhaps the mismatches Australia faced in Oceania.
I'm glad you agree the Italians cheated. Grosso has admitted in
interviews that that foul was one of the highlights of his career:
"
Q. We had to wait until the Round of 16 match against Australia for
your first truly magical moment.
Fabio: That was the first really intense thrill I experienced at
Germany.
"
Your endorsement of this attitude displays a clear lack of sporting
values. As for your threat to continue posting, nothing you say has
any importance as it is all prejudice and unfairness.
> Upon seeing the replay, the referee actually apologized after the

Schwarzer made a pathetic jump for a cross against a player he was half
a foot and considerably heavier than. In that situation I will always
blame the goalkeeper.

Against the best team in 2006 they didn't have a prayer.

Of course they cheated but you seem to have forgotten, like all
Australians, that Materazzi was unjustly sent off that, that the
coaching genius that is Hiddink was playing for penalties against a 10
man Italy knowing full well Italy's achilles heel was penalty shoot
outs. It's not the first time a Hiddink team has played for penalties
either. He did it with PSV in 1986, that's how Australia qualified for
the 2006 WC finals at Uruguay's expense, live by the penalty die by the
penalty.

Endorsement? I clearly stated that Italy cheated in my previous post and
in my match report back in 2006. What I don't endorse is moaning and
this idea that Australia were robbed. Italy were robbed of a player and
still outplayed Australia. Italy were by far the better team and
deserved to win that game and having been on the end of bullshit
decisions for 16 f*cking years they were due some luck.

Let me say something about Russia
- They lack heart and will, not unusual
- Australia has won and drawn it's last two matches against Neteherlands
- Hiddink is silently regretting leaving Australia. He now realises that
being part of an Australian sporting team is much more rewarding
that taking millions for coaching girls

You still have not answered his question, are there too many facts
to contend with ?
Australia 3 Ireland 1 (In Ireland)
Viper
If you have to ask that question then you know nothing about football.
On the contrary, a couple of people have provided you with some effective
evidence, but you have nothing to respond with. Good to see you are as full
of shit as usual. Promise everything, deliver nothing.....Lord of
War....lol, more
like Lord of Dressmaking
Viper
I suspect there is very little that 'makes sense to you'. Most information
is going to have a hard time penetrating 6cms of forehead.....
Viper
You may be not wrong about what you say, but when the Russians are on
a roll they are much more dangerous than Australia could ever be.
Just watch their match against Netherlands EC08 or the match of Zenit
vs Bayern some months before. This is frightening.
I'm sure your'e right, but the thing that most European teams cannot do is
play consistently, play for each other, play for the whole 90 minutes, play
in a heightened state of competitiveness week after week etc. It is simply
not part of their make up.
They are considered soft.
The Australian players may lake the flashy individual skills of some of
their
opponents, but they never lack guts, heart and determination. This is what
old Gus encountered in Australia, for the first time in his professional
life and
that's what he loved about the joint.
If you had to select a team to play for your life, you would choose
Australia.
Viper
That's disgusting. One much prefers seeing individual skills, like
Henry, than guts, like Keane.

You'd be crazy to e-mail me with the crazy. But leave the div alone.
3-0 actually. Limerick.
Well in each of the 1974, 1982, & 2006 world cups, both of these teams
played Brazil or the Germans (in 1974, "both Germanys"). Not that it
helped UEFA's sole representative (Croatia) in the group, since
Croatia proved unable to win a game against either of the AFC & OFC
representatives.
I don't see your point. Almost by definition, "teams like australia
and new zealand" will be in groups containing a seeded country such as
Germany, Italy or Brazil. That is the way the pot system works when
the draw is made. The first pot will probably be something like South
Africa (CAF - as hosts), Germany (UEFA), Brazil CONMEBOL) , Italy
(UEFA), Spain (UEFA), England (UEFA) , France (UEFA), Slovakia (UEFA)
& maybe Argentina (CONMEBOL).
The only way Australia or New Zealand could avoid a strong pot 1 team
would be if they were lucky enough to be drawn against South Africa,
in which case they would still have strong opposition from pot 2 UEFA
& CONMEBOL teams - all of whom you think should automatically qualify
ahead of Australia & NZ.
I suspect he is afraid of Australia. That is why he is making all this
noise.
Why didn't he have a go at New Zealand?
Latest FIFA rankings have the three teams he mentions as follows:
Russia 13
Australia 21
Ireland 36
If FIFA took the best 32 teams to the WC then Australia would be in but
Ireland would miss out.
But as I said he is afraid of Oz. :-)
Gerrit
Russia and Ireland are better teams. Plain as day.
A recent match in Ireland suggests otherwise.
Not afraid, It's just that secretly in his heart he knows that Italy's win
in 2006 has the same hollowness as France's qualification this time. Yes
they have the World Cup, but he knows they should have went home after the
second round.
I agree it's a total joke.
Australia, Germany and France should have eliminate Italy, but their
cheating ways prove superiors in 2006.
Ciao
Patrick
Of course he doesn't know anything about football the way hes been
on about Italy lately.. only Aussies new to the game would make a big
deal out of that.
Um..... not at all. Grosso was fouled. the replays show it. Tell me,
what was Grosso to do when the stupid rugby player from australia
through himself in fron of Grosso???? Should Grosso have grown wings
and flapped his way over the Australian???? In fact, not one oficial
outside of Australia diagreed with the on field call. In fact, Italy
was down 10 men for over half the game, how the hell did an Italian
defender of all people get into the penalty area with the ball????
Surely, if Australia was that much better than Italy they would have
scored a goal other than the 1 yes 1 pathetic shot they got on net.
So.... shut the hell up once and or all.
Really, how did Italy cheat??? They beat Australia being a man down,
they beat Germany 2-0 in what was one of the best games of all time
and they beat france even though abidal dove in the pnalty area to get
the first goal. Please explain yourself. If you are austrlian don't
even bother. You people know nothing of football. Kerp to rugby and
keeping the dingo away from you baby before he gets eaten!
