I just realized that (theoretically) portable weather radar is already a reality, using an iPhone. Hopefully I will be testing the theory in the not-too-distant future. Although there still are inline skaters around (counting myself), I have however noticed that it appear to be fewer now than some years ago. I'm not sure if this is a local "phenomena" only, or if there has been a global declining trend in inline skating during the last years... Regards, Stig Arne Bye... more »

Speed control surprise!

Surprise 1: I'd been skating regularly on the level, and moved into a hillier area. I was not at all prepared for the out-of-control feeling on my first serious downhill! Luckily there were no cars on the cross-road, and there was a broad cul-de-sac at the bottom where I could make a large skidding turn. Whew!... more »

big front wheel street skates

Still using my big front wheel skates (144 mm front wheel, four 80 mm trailing wheels), everywhere I go. They work great for me (street skating). I probably will not skate on anything else (especially since I have seven pair of those Roces speed skates, all easy to modify). [link]... more »
