After posting here about having such a good experience with the WD-40
silicon lubricant (after having posted about the Teflon silicone
lubricant), many months later for some reason I went out and bought
six cans of the Teflon silicone lubricant. Maybe I got sidetracked
after Lowe's stopped stocking the Teflon silicone lubricant. It has
many other uses.
A recent skate suggests that the Teflon silicone lubricant doesn't
repel water or prevent rust very well. Also, even though spinning the
wheels produces no gritty sound, a very thin layer of fine grit/dirt
is coating the plastic part of the wheels and some of the frame.
I'll go back to trying the WD-40 silicon spray, for now. Not sure why
I got off that one. As I recall, it keeps the skates looking very
clean, will see.
