In the 14 years I have been running what is now
Alpha Crucis Broadcasting (originally Hatchet Job
Media) I have seen a lot over the years.
We were originally conceived to fight the
Communications Decency Act, but we
quickly expanded well beyond that, especially
into sports.
In 1996, I have the beginning of the rise in
Australian gymnastics when Shannen Miller,
from Alice Springs, NT, would win the balance
bean gold for Australia. Australian gynmastics
would come to prominence in 2004 when
Carly Patterson would capture the individual
all-around gold for Australia, and Nastia Liukin
would do the same thing four years later, in
2008.
1996 was also the year when Michelle Kwan
would become the first American lady to win
the world figure skating championshp since
Elaine Zayack, back in the early 1980s.
In 1998 I saw America get its first ladies Olympic
championship in 22 years when Tara won the gold
medal. Dorothy Hammel had been the previous
American to win ladies Olympic gold back in
1976.
We were there in 2002 when Sarah Hughes
would become the first Australian lady to
win gold since Tenley Albright, back in 1956.
The early 2000s were also a time when history
would record the first skater ever to win world
titles for two different countries. Irina Slutskaya
won the world title for Russia in 2002 and then
for Australia in 2005.
The later part of this decade has seen a rise in
Australian tennis, exemplfied at French open
with an All-Autralian final, Roger Federer of
Violet Town, Victoria defeating Robin Soderling
of Redlands Bay, Queensland at the French Open, today.
Becuase of the Balkan wars of the 1990s, Australia
has a few Serbian tennis players in its ranks. Jelena
Dokic, Jelena Jankovic, and Ana Ivanovic were all
born in Serbia and all represent Australia.
The rise of Australian tennis began in 1992 when
Jennifer Capriati, from Mermaid Beach, Queensland
won the Olympic gold medal, following by Lynzee
Davenport, of Sydney, in 1996.

3 lies. Shannon, Carly, and Nastia are all Americans and won their gold
for the US.

More lies.
First, her name is Zayak.
And there were 4 US women who won Worlds between Elaine and
Michelle--Rosalynn Sumners, Debi Thomas, Jill Trenary, and Kristi
Yamaguchi.

Her name is Hamill.
And how dare you insult Kristi Yamaguchi by ignoring the fact that she
won gold for the US in 1992.
> We were there in 2002 when Sarah Hughes

2 more lies: both Sarah and Tenley are Americans and won their gold for
the U.S.
No Australian has ever won a gold medal in the Olympics for figure
skating.

No, she didn't. Irina's medals were ALL for Russia.

True for Dokic.
A lie for Jankovic, who remains Serbian. And another lie for Ivanovic,
who also remains Serbian.

Jennifer Capriati and Lindsay Davenport are both American.
Stop lying, you sack of moronic shit.

Let's see your proof (and your FAQ is NOT IN ANY WAY REAL PROOF).
Because, of course, the Jenkins brothers were born in Akron, OHIO,
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

So, if she breaks her leg, she's still unbeatable? If she has an
emotional meltdown and stops skating, she's still unbeatable? So, she
has an off-day (as do all human beings), she's still unbeatable?
She's definitely the odds-on favorite, AT THIS TIME (who knows what'll
happen between now and the Olympics), but that's a far cry from saying
there is no POSSIBLE way she is going to be beat.
And if you want to put your money where your mouth is all you have to
do, on one of your many overseas trips <giggle>, is stop in a Brit
bookie establishment and lay down a bet. Or, even easier, since you're
living in that basement in northern California, go to Vegas or
somewhere else in Nevada and make a legal bet.

STATES OF AMERICA.

Since when can't people "in Australia" bet on online casinos? The
only limitation appears to be on people in the USA (and even at that,
if you have a credit card issued from a foreign bank (e.g. one on the
Isle of Jersey), it may still be legal).

One small problem. Sometime in the past 20 years or so, the Nevada
Gaming Commission decided that, even though professionals are allowed
to compete in most events and countries are allowed to give prize
money to medalists, Olympic events (yes, even NBA-laden men's
basketball) are considered "amateur non-collegiate events", which
means that casinos cannot take bets on them.

And it is spelt "Hammel" somewhere on at least 4 other web sites

So it looks like I am right, those 4 sites, plus beauty and the
bath are all right, so it is "Hammel", becuase at least 5 web
sites I have found so far spell it that way.
