Headline: Electronic Arts Ships Michelle Kwan Figure Skating; Electronic Arts
and Olympic Medalist Create Ultimate PC CD-ROM Figure Skating Experience in
Latest Gonzo Games Title

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 8, 1999--Electronic Arts
(Nasdaq:ERTS), the world's largest interactive entertainment software company,
today announced that it shipped Michelle Kwan Figure Skating, a PC title aimed
at 8-to-13-year-old girls that combines intense competition with the fashion,
music and pageantry of championship skating.

The game was developed under Electronic Arts' (EA) newly established Gonzo
Games(TM) brand.

Michelle Kwan Figure Skating encourages hands-on participation in all
aspects of the sport by allowing a player to create and compete in a two-minute
routine. She can select her own music and choose or create her costume for the
event. Girls can ratchet up the excitement and realism by scanning their faces
onto the skater. They can also select a body type and match skin and hair color
creating the skater that best reflects themselves. Players then step onto the
ice to practice spins and execute challenging jumps or compete in a season as
themselves, or as Michelle Kwan.

After experiencing the thrill of being a world-class skater, the player
can create and print a scrapbook of her skating career, or e-mail highlights of
her performances to family and friends. Those highlights can be stored on the
PC or printed in photo form.

Michelle Kwan worked closely with the development team to boost the
title's realism. Not only does her voice provide easy-to-follow instructions in
the game, but she also offered advice on music, accurate skating movements,
costumes and how to best capture her own style to insure that the game
realistically depicts championship skating.

"I'm honored that EA chose to build its first girls game around my
skating," said Michelle Kwan. "I wanted this game to be as authentic as
possible and I wanted to make sure that every detail was right, from the way I
take off on my jumps and the key elements of my spins, right down to the way my
foot is pointed during my spiral. This game is the closest thing to being out
there on the ice."

"We believe Michelle Kwan Figure Skating will be at the top of a lot of
young girls' holiday wish lists this year," said Mitzi McGilvray, supervising
producer for Gonzo Games at EA. "This title is easy-to-use and will provide
hours of fun for girls who dream of collecting bouquets of roses after skating
a flawless routine in front of a packed arena. Michelle Kwan Figure Skating
provides a balanced mix of fashion, music, pageantry and competition."

As players create their programs, they can choose from more than 50 moves
and jumps and execute their moves in any one of four rinks including: Stadium,
Training, Mall or a Beach rink. In addition to developing a snappy routine,
players can get creative with their costumes by selecting from more than 60
outfits -- mixing and matching skating costumes, skirts and skate colors.

Michelle Kwan guides players through the creation of their routines,
alerting them if a specific move will not realistically work in the program.
Cyber skaters can choreograph their moves to the in-game music they select or
they can download their favorite tunes from the Internet (in MIDI file format)
and use them in the game.

The game features four different competitive levels of increasing
difficulty -- Regionals, Sectionals, Nationals and Worlds. Players try to
perform perfect routines before a panel of judges who will take points off of a
score for any bobbles or falls in a routine. Staying true to the sport, judges
rate skaters at the end of their routine using a one to six grading system.
Skaters receive their final scores as they sit in a "kiss and cry" area after
the competition.

Michelle Kwan Figure Skating is priced at US $29.99. Minimum system
requirements include a Pentium(R) 200 MHz, 32 MB, and a DirectDraw(TM)
compatible video card. The game carries an ESRB rating of "E" (Everyone).

Michelle Kwan Figure Skating is the latest title to be released under
Gonzo Games, a brand that represents fun entertainment for the casual PC game
player. Developed to run on low-end systems, Gonzo Games products are
economically priced and require a minimal learning curve before the fun begins.

Can you only be a female skater? Because that sucks. I'd want to be a Russian male skater.
If anyone plays it, let us know. Seems like it might be lame.

From what I've read, it looks pretty cool.

After playing Tony Hawk's Pro Skater (and not being a skateboarding fan at
all), I'd love to see a good figure skating game on playstation.

Tony Hawk's got excellent motion capture, a good sense of moves and easy to
learn combos and harder tricks.

I think this would transfer extremely well to a figure skating game.
