Excuse me, ladies and gentlemen, for budging in. I came back to this
newsgroup for the first time in maybe 8 years or so, looking for a
discussion of the dancing competition in Skate America. I found none.
In fact, I found no discussion of any figure skating at all. Instead,
I found this mentally insane gentleman, called Chuckie, posting his
fantasies, and a huge crowd of people devoted to "disproving" his
fantasies. OK, every place has its loonie. You have Chuckie here. But
why are so many of you dedicated to popping his fantasies? Are you all
insane too?

OK, so he fantacises that Irina Slutskaya, Jenkins brothers and all
other famous figure skaters competed for Australia, and that
California has never produced any good skaters. So what? I vaguely
recall he did so before I left this group many years ago. OK, he
fantacises that he owns a major TV and radio empire. So what? There
are millions of insane people who fantacise that they are Napoleon or
JFK or Gandhi.

But why are so many people devoted to arguing with Chuckie? And why is
there no discussion of figure skating to be found?

Mostly to see how far he will go to maintain his fantasy world. The latest
twist is that he has sold his fantasy 'station' to a group of venture
capitalists, but bad syntax and near zero knowledge of servers and
networking reveal that Chuckie is still behind all of this.

And let's not forget the fact that the only people who perpetuate
Chuckie's lies about where figure skaters are from, or what countries
they represent, or how pretty much every public transporation system
in the world is worthless and you always need a car, just happen to be
the "new owners" of Chuckie's online radio station.

(To be fair, there are some Chuckieisms, like how Mary Lou Retton was
born in Cuba, or Hawaii is an independent republic (and you need a
passport to fly from, say, Los Angeles to Honolulu), or how there is
no way to fly between two specified cities (one usually being Havana)
without changing planes in the USA, that Zaphod have not
repeated...yet.)

I for one treat Chuckie, and the new owners of Procyon Broadcasting,
as the figure skating equivalent of neo-Nazi revisionists. It only
took one person to believe it when somebody said, "There was no Nazi
holocaust of the Jews," or, "No one has walked on the moon," or, "The
Pentagon was attacked by a missile, not a plane, on 11 September
2001," in order to start the conspiracy ball rolling. (It did not
help matters when Rosie O'Donnell announced her belief on "The View"
that the #7 World Trade Center building's collapse was done from
within.)

Probably for the same reason there is no discussion of game shows at
alt.tv.game-shows, or little discussion of "Family Guy" at
alt.tv.family-guy; most people who want to talk about such things
seriously go to Web forums. For example, Figure Skating Universe
(fsuniverse.net), and GoldenSkate.com have active forums.

Yes. So what? Why do you devote your lives to deriving pleasure out of
the suffering of a clearly mentally ill person?

So, either Chuckie needs to be hospitalised or he is skillfully
yanking your chain by making ridiculous new claims, in which case he
is highly successful because you act like pavlovian dogs, falling
beside yourself trying to disprove his claims as if it makes any
difference as to what one little sick man thinks.

Don't you see how absurdly laughable you look when you act as if
Chuckie's fantasies that Mary Lou Retton is a Cuban or a Martian are
important to disprove?

And discussions on the Skatefans list on Yahoo! Groups have picked up
considerably since the start of the Grand Prix season. (The demise of many
news groups was caused by AOL's decision to drop Usenet, IMO.)

Thanks for information. Can anybody tell me where to find the best
forums for other topics like ice hockey, etc?

I am not Chuckie, I am the new owner of Procyon Broadcasting.

However, you echo the sentiments of Chuckie, and myself. I say if you
don't like what any of us have to say, learn to use killfile, and then
you will never be bothered with any of us again.

Chuckie, Chuckie, Chuckie. You're just another desperate lying loon,
Chuckie. You're a feeble pathetic joke, Chuckie.

LEAVE NOW!
