Lord Shiney assumed you were kidding, but looked elsewhere and
discovered it was all too true.  The omission of Ellis is unbelievable
- easily the best halfback in NZ for several years and in the best
current form as well.  The inclusion of Weepu is even more
unbelievable - he's only ever had one decent match for the ABs (QF in
last year's WC), he was truly awful in both the semi and final, having
to be hooked off very early on both occasions, and even by those
appalling standards he currently looks terrible. This has to be the
most irresponsible AB selection decision since the excruciating Laurie
Mains was chosen ahead of Fergie McCormick against the 1971 Lions.

Lord Shiney is also confused by the selection of Cane.  The latter
isn't even the usual first choice at the Chiefs, and neither he nor
Latimer is as consistently good as Todd.
