Carlos coming to the UK was bad for everyone except his other half who liked
Northampton. Unfortunately he never did the business on the field and was
let go. He was kept out of Saints by Myler, who at the time had 4 games of
union under his belt, but it was decided by Mallinder (who knows a thing or
two) that he bossed the game better than Carlos. Gloucester bought him to
try and save their season after the unfortunate Ryan Lamb was made the
scapegoat for their woes (an English trait - see Geraghty in the AIs) and
that didn't work either. There's no way he'd have got another contract in
the GP. All in all, he's been a huge disappointment.

The feeling in SA is much the same. What are these clowns doing?
If one SA side was going to buy him it would be our Lions.
They have just lost 3 really good players (including Jacque Fourie)
because their contracts were bungled (they had Fourie down as an
administrator or something).
Their administration is inept.
Maybe the signing manager that signed him was looking at an old rugby
annual that listed Spencers age as 28 and still playing for the ABs
