From Sky Bet

France 6/4
Ireland 5/2
Wales 7/2
England 9/2
Scotland 18/1
Italy 200/1

It's a miserable read for an England fan, especially when you have to accept
it's right that they are 4th favourite even with Ireland and Wales at home.
They say the bookies don't often get it wrong, so their opinion of the
current England setup does not seem very high.

France favourites, England fourth, after what we did to them last time.
Just shows how inconsistent we are.
And worse: we're usually inconsistent within the same game, which means
eyebrows et al get to talk about 'positives' over and over.....

England manager Martin Johnson insists his side are making progress despite
a loss to INSERT NAME HERE.

"I'm never happy losing but we threw everything at them. I'm disappointed to
lose but proud of the guys," he said.

"We could have been in the game with 10 minutes to go. We had chances at the
end. The breakdown was probably the biggest difference."

"People watching maybe think we've done nothing or gone backwards, but I
think as a group we've come a long way."

"Although maybe it's not particularly pretty there's a great deal of
substance - this is a group of people who trust each other now and we go
forward to INSERT NAME HERE with a lot to build on," said Johnson.

The harshest criticism this week has been directed at assistant coaches John
Wells, Brian Smith and Mike Ford, but Johnson confirmed they will remain in
place for INSERT NAME HERE.

"I'm happy with the coaching team. Considering what they've been through,
they've done a brilliant job," he said.

The sad truth of the matter is that at some stage during the 6N, I'm going
to pull that post out and it's going to be horribly accurate.
