Rowing and art
RQ on her New Rowing Information page: [link] has drawn attention to a Row2k.com interview with noted sculler & sculptor, Ellen Kennelly. Ellen dropped in at our workshop some years ago, not long after I'd seen pictures of her powerful bronze of a sculler's hands.... more »

Following the head race, this year's organizer set up a series of "challenge races", various club members and coaches will boat up and race each other, they'll all have financial backers who will "bet" on the outcome, loser's money donated to the program.... more »

Single scull opinions

2000 Sydney Olympics rowing video
Am trying to get a copy of the video of all rowing finals from the Sydney Olympics. Have tried various sources but to-date it doesn't seem to be available. Know of any DVD's for sale that have this? or any websites that have archived this video? Thanks.

Managing the Run of the Boat
I have read (and repeated) that whatever strategy a crew uses to manage the run of the boat will only negligibly affect the distance travelled from finish to catch. However I had doubts, and decided to try to work it out for myself. It turns out that there are significant differences between recovery... more »
