I'm suprised, no one on this news group has commented on this little
gem yet
Why are the moorings in place for such a long time?
Was there any consultation?
Will Dorney now be fully booked for that time?

It is going to be a pain, but not too much of a pain.

I row on the section from Richmond Lock to the sea, which will become
to hammersmith Bridge .... but in reality this will not restrict us
too much, though it will mean we have to row out with the tide and
back against the tide ..... psychologically harder :)

The up side is that the upriver clubs will not come down 'our end',
and my club will experience new navigational issuse as they use the
river in new directions - whcih I think is a good thing.

Timings and options were 'discussed' but in a way that means they were
already 'decided'.

But IMHO it is for a good cause!

If you'd believe some it's the end of the world as we know it. I
should imagine might be a little preoccupied with another little event
this year to take many bookings.

As was pointed out on TR, the restrictions start at Barn Elms and
between there and Wandsworth Bridge is well over 2K so there IS room,
albeit not much fun below Putney at high tide. But on the bottom half
of the tide, on a calm early morning or late evening when there's not
too much traffic, it can be pretty pleasant. Steady-staters will have
to launch from St Pauls probably and head up to Richmond.
