Boat booking software

Does anyone have a recommendation for boat booking software, I have
seen it working in a Dutch club. We have a selection of new
recreational boats for the new British Rowing Explore Rowing scheme. I
am coordinating the scheme at our club and once we have launched and
have a pool of competent recreational rowers I want to be able to let
them book on line.

My club (RV de Amstel in Amsterdam) uses My-Fleet:

It's not perfect, but does the job. We have touchscreens in the
boathouse and you can also book online.

Our club has for several years used e-allocator (www.e-allocator.com)
for booking training slots for our annual regatta. It was first
designed for booking light aircraft, but we have found it adapts well,
as long as you accept its simple approach. It does cost, but offers a
free set up and trial. No connection - just posted as a happy
customer.

I have not tried it, but it may be possible to use Google calendars:
open one shared calendar for each boat/resource you wish to manage.
This would also require a computer with internet access at the boat
house. Rowers without reservations would need to adhere to checking
for an existing reservation on a boat before taking it.

We use www.bookingsystem.com, free of charge. You need to create a
unique name for each boat/time period (boat-resource) but it works
well.
example: boat= skiffname monday AM, skiffname monday pm, etc.

linked with a booking form, but why reinvent the wheel when Doodle will do
the job just right.Have a look at http://www.doodle.com/2s2gifx45fscxsm6 for
an example if you have fixed times, or you could schedule by individual
boats and have time slots.

Putney Town use a system called eSquad for allocating crews, but were
also developing a boat booking system. It is a quick and easy-to-use

various squads to plan training, etc as individual athletes log in and
can indicate their availability for training over a number of months.

I can thoroughly recommend MRBS: http://mrbs.sourceforge.net/ It is
Open Source, so if you have anyone within reach who enjoys tinkering
with PHP (expert status NOT required), then so much the better. My
club has used it successfully for some years and I can show you a
working example if you're interested. It also has a reporting
facility if you need to know boat-usage stats etc.

calendars and Google spreadsheets to book pieces of equipment.
