The Marlow Fours and Pairs will again be held at Dorney Lake (22nd
November) because the Lock is closed and on-going construction work at
Longridge Scout Boating Centre severely restricts the available space
for boating.
See details here: http://www.marlowrowingclub.org.uk/index.p...&Itemid=157
We still await the event being set up on OARA but expect this in the
next few days.
Reminder - the closing date is SATURDAY14th November 3.00 p.m.
Also includes events for 1x and coastal boats
We will review the weather forecast and issue a notice regarding the
likely effect on Saturday a.m. We will then publish our decision so
that clubs can decide whether to travel to Dorney
Assuming that the race goes ahead it will be the responsibility of
clubs, coaches and parents of juniors to ensure they are wearing
appropriate clothing for a wet/windy November morning. A crew will NOT
be allowed to go afloat if the Control Commission umpires decide that
hypothermia is a risk to a competitor.
Rock the Boat will be there too so raid your piggy banks for Christmas
cards supporting UK Adaptive Rowing, a beautiful calendar supporting
Mark Lees Foundation and a whole host of other clothing and gifts
including warm hats and pogies! Oh, and bargain priced 2009 4s Head t-
shirts!
Thanks for having us Peter and committee (and Dorney Lake team)
You may get some business from parents or coaches who are concerned
that their competitors are under-dressed. Perhaps you will have some
pogies this year - a good Christmas gift for the January frosts.
The event is still going ahead - the wind forecast is currently OK.
So the weather forecasters were right we had lightish and sun winds to
start, a sudden intense squall just as the 2nd division started and
then lightish winds and sun for Div 3 when everyone was wet.
Thanks to all the visiting clubs and their competitors for their co-
operation
