Gas/oil is low right now. Really low. Under $2 in some places.
Usually when that happens, the Saudis -- the biggest oil producers -- slow down their production to ease demand. They're not doing that this time.
Why?
Four reasons: Syria, Iran, Russia and ISIS.
The Saudis fucking hate ISIS. ISIS keeps stealing oil fields and using them to fund their army. Therefore, if oil keeps falling, it hits ISIS in the wallet.
The Saudis don't give too much of a fuck about Syria, Iran and Russia separately, but together, all three of them are causing too much regional upheaval. The Saudis are businessmen. Too much chaos is bad for business. And the thing about all three of these guys is that their economies all rely mainly on oil and gas.
Russia most of all. They're choking without oil. The Ruble is crumbling. So much for great man of action.
Obama probably made a deal with the Saudis, proving again why he's the FUCKING MAN.

Your terminology proves how little you know what you are talking about. Crude is still about $60 a barrel. Gas is somewhere around $4. If you are talking about what it is at the pump, well, who the heck cares?? It changes every day and depends on where you are living.

If true it is brilliant. Venezuela is taking it on the nose too.
Raygun did something similar in the 80s to hit the Soviets back then. It is a solid strategy. If Pres. Obama is pulling it off he can defund a lot of bad actors without firing a shot.

Um, a LOT of people actually. Well, admittedly, mostly people who can afford cars and trucks and stuff. Unlike paupers like yourself who live in a YMCA and never venture any further then the 7-11 up the street, where your broke ass grabs one of their $1.69 Hot dogs every night, as opposed to a $7 hamburger from Five Guys.
