A year that had so much promise, now fills us with dread.

Despite an amazing Triple Threat match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, this year's Royal Rumble has been hailed as one of the worst outings for the PPV to date. The reason? The 30-Man Royal Rumble match itself.

It was always obvious in some ways who would end up winning, but both that and the way it was handled made the inevitable even worse. That wasn't the only issue however, and there are really ten points in the Royal Rumble which serve as an indication that things are going to go from bad to worse for WWE fans over the next few months.

The Road to WrestleMania is often hailed as the best part of the year for WWE programming, but the Royal Rumble has left members of the WWE Universe with little to look forward to and clear signs that things won't be getting better.

Unless you are Afa, Sika, Peter Maivia or Dwayne Johnson, that is. Notice I did not put Reigns in there. It may ultimately be a Batista-like year for him, which would not be pleasant.
