Galavision Lucha Libre TV Review #33
CMLL TV 9/5/98
By ste...@kern.com

Halcon Negro/Guerrero de la Muerte/Karloff Lagarde vs Olimpico/Solar II
/Torero
Olimpico dives off the middle turnbuckle over the top rope onto Halcon.
Torero pins Muerte with a poorly executed assisted huracanrana. Solar
gets Lagarde into a hold for the first fall. Muerte throws Solar off
the top head first for the second fall. Torero dives through the ropes
near the post onto Muerte with a tope suicida. Olimpico gets Halcon
into a hold for the match. Average action.

Hermanos Dinamita vs Tony Rivera/Head Hunters
The Hunters splash a standing Cien between themselves, then cover him
for fall one. They all brawl around, not doing much in the way of holds
or throws. The Dinamitas are disqualified after throwing Rivera over
the top rope onto the Hunters. Not much of a match, even though they
went for a good amount of time. The idiot who edited this episode for
Galavision kept this worthless shit intact, while cutting out the six
man tag with Mr Aguila and Ultimo Guerrero which aired on Televisa's
version of this episode a week or so ago. The clueless editor picks the
one really good undercard feud to cut, while choosing to keep in two
worthless old man crap fests. Most of them making it on TV every week,
so it's not like they need the exposure.

Ultimo Guerrero does a short promo mentioning his feud with Mr Aguila.
Some Japanese magazine photos of the two are shown, probably from
CMLL's 12/97 Japan tour. Guerrero is expected to win Mr Aguila's mask
in a week or so. Which should be a great match if the two try for
something memorable.

Apolo Dantes/Ricky Santana/Boricua vs Rayo de Jalisco/Emilio Charles/
Kevin Quinn
Dantes pins Quinn with a Northern Lights suplex. Rayo pins Boriqua
after a blind tope, while Charles screws up some sort of cradle while
pinning Santana. Universo 2000 pulls Rayo to the floor and beats him
down. The fans throw several beverages at Universo on his way out.
The rudos use a metal flag pole with the Puerto Rican flag on it to
beat down Charles, who gets cut open. The rudos are disqualified after
a while. Mascara ano 2000 turns tecnico by helping Charles run the
Puerto Ricans out of the ring. Barely average action compared to their
usual matches. Poor action compared to most of CMLL's younger talent
not used on TV often enough.

Momentos Estelares moves of the week. First up is a new move from Mr
Aguila. He springboards off the middle rope with a moonsault onto
Halcon Negro, but gets really high and smasks him head to head with a
slick upside down tope, then cradles Halcon for a pin fall. Fiera dives
over the top rope with a rare tope suicida onto a Villano. Oriental
dives off the middle turnbuckle to the floor with a flying head
scissors onto Dr O'Borman Jr. They replay Torero's tope suicida and
then Rivera getting thrown over the top rope.

Black Warrior/Bestia Salvaje/Scorpio Jr/Fuerza Guerrera vs Felino/Negro
Casas/Shocker/Fiera
Scorpio gets Negro in a camel clutch, and Black Warrior frankensteiners
Felino off the top for the first fall. Felino counters a Warrior top
rope frankensteiner with a powerbomb off the top. Negro gets Bestia in
a leg scissors sleeper for fall two. Bestia gets taken backstage by
stretcher. Fuerza and Scorpio argue. Fuerza knees Negro in the groin.
Negro tears open Fuerza's mask. Felino dives off the inside middle turn
buckle to the floor with a good somersault onto Warrior. Shocker gets
Scorpio to submit with a back breaker hold. Negro pins Fuerza with a
magistral cradle for the third fall. Good overall action, with a couple
cool moves, and good crowd heat.
