If you're interested in this, but don't have the money now, please let me
know. This is not to drum up business for an existing service, but rather
to see if there is enough interest to support the service should I decide to
provide it.

So, read, if this piques your interest, email me at moz...@hotmail.com, or
just reply to this post.

Okay people, I've been asked this question more than a few times...

"Hey man, how much to draw my character?"

The answer, usually, is that I won't...at all. Simply because I've not
considered this a job, where I'm paid, and I have to draw stuff for people I
don't know...

However, I've gotten enough requests recently that it's gotten me to
thinking...

"Maybe this could work."

So, this is a tester. Who here would pay to have their wrestler drawn?

The page information for this service is below, along with approximate
prices (subject to change at any time) for images.

(Best viewed on a plain text reader -- or it won't line up.)

Mozeart.

This is something of a strange online business. Basically, I'm trying to
make a small living off of creating images for PBeM (play by email) games.
This means that I draw / color / paint / whatever the characters for the
players, which they can then use to show the world what their characters
look like.

Or, they could just hang the original on their living room wall, and brag
about having an original work of art by the (soon to be) legendary Moze
Howard.

Don't worry...that was a joke. I'm not _that_ egotistical (yet:).

The long and short of it is that once you purchase an image from me, you are
free to use it for whatever purposes you like. The only right I retain to
the work is the option to show it as something of a portfolio on a webpage
or elsewhere. It's your character, it's your picture.

The only other thing I request is that my name/signature not be removed from
the original. I don't want to point fingers, but certain people don't mind
claiming that they're artists and taking credit for what I've done.

------------------------------------------------
What is required from you.
------------------------------------------------

Other than just paying my exorbinant fee (I'll probably be making minimum
wage when all's said and done:) I require that you actually tell me what you
want drawn. It's your character, and I'm not psychic. When requesting an
image, please send it via snail mail to (PO Box coming when I'm sure people
want this service). Include your email address, and a detailed description
of the character/background/whatever else you want. When I say detailed, I
mean that you should describe the character's attire, hair, eyes, build,
everything pertinent to appearance.

Again, please include your email address. This is just in case I have
questions, and so that an electronic copy of the finished art can be sent to
you when I'm done.

------------------------------------------------
Size | Drawn | Price |Postage/handling.*
------------------------------------------------
4.25X5" |Head only| $3.00 | 50 cents
4.25X5" |Full body| $5.00 | 50 cents
5.5X8.5" | Either | $10.00 | $1.00
8.5X11" | Either | $20.00 | $2.00
11X17" | Either | $40.00 | $5.00

* = Handling includes the price of the envelope, hard backing, and any other
packaging that goes into the shipping of the original artwork to a snail
mail address.

Please note the table below. Use the above and below tables to calculate
the final price.

------------------------------------------------
Medium | Multiply price by
------------------------------------------------
Ink | Base price. *
Pencil | 1/2 (sketch).
Pencil |1 (graytone drawing).
Marker |2 (colored over ink). **
Painted |4 (Fully painted, takes a long time. Done on expensive watercolor
paper.) ***
Mixed med|5 (Mixed medium = colored pencil/watercolor/india ink on a heavy
illustration board.
|This provides the best effect of any of the methods.)

* = Done on bristol paper.
** = Coloring done on photocopy, original on bristol paper.
*** = No delivery charge for original.

I'll have to give a quote on backgrounds. They tend to be much more time
consuming and expensive (materials) than figure drawings. Just email me at
moz...@hotmail.com with a detailed background description. Please specify
the size and medium when requesting a quote.

If the background isn't too complex, I wouldn't have to charge extra. Just
ask, and we'll work something out.
------------------------------------------------
Other information.
------------------------------------------------

-- Shipping and handling charges apply if you want the originals. If you do
not want the original artwork, the image will be sent to you in the form of
a huge (upwards of 500K) GIF or JPG file. All images mailed flat to avoid
damage.

It is, of course, no problem to ship you a scanned copy as well if you do
want the original. Just let me know. :)

-- Payment must be made in advance in the form of a check or money order
made payable to me, Moze Howard. The check will not be cashed until the
artwork is done, and the artwork will not be sent until the check is
cleared.

------------------------------------------------
In closing.
------------------------------------------------

Some of you will probably be thinking that I'm asking a pretty hefty price
for my services. On the surface, maybe you're right. For an 11X17 mixed
medium image you'd be looking at something like $200.00 if the background
wasn't going to take me a month to draw and $50 worth of materials to
illustrate.

The fact is that art takes time, lots of time. That painting might take me
40-50 hours to complete. While I'm doing it, I can't finish any other
images (most likely), and at that rate, it works out to $5 or less an hour.
Minimum wage is more than that, for god's sake.

Considering that this might pile up quickly, you may have to wait up to 6
(6) weeks for the artwork to be delivered to you. If for some reason I
cannot finish it in the allotted time, I will try to find another artist to
produce the artwork (yes, I know a few) or return your check/money order.

I doubt that business will ever pick up that much, however.

Interested? Please email me at moz...@hotmail.com and let me know.

Moze Howard.

Okay, now samples...

Joe Gonzo: Done for a friend of mine, Josh Yetman. This pic of Gonzo is my
most recent (less than 24 hours ago) piece of artwork, and a good example of
a 5.5X8.5" ink drawing.

William Craven(1): Colored pencil drawing. Example of a small size
(4.25X5") mixed medium piece...

William Craven(2): Ink and marker drawing. Also small size.

http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Comet/4280/crsamp2.jpg

Dark Angel: Eric Moreau's character in ACWA. This piece would have been
better if I hadn't gotten frustrated with the time it took to complete it.
I spent 12 hours on this badboy, got it to where the background was
grayscale and the character was color...and stopped. Otherwise, it would
have taken me up to 20 hours. Example of a midsize (8.5X11") mixed medium
piece.

Salvatore Cassanini: Mine again. An example of a 5.5X8" colored pencil
image. No multimedia here, just the colored pencil part. :)

http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Comet/4280/sal4a.jpg

Graydrake: Okay, it's not a wrestler or anything, but it's the only big
piece I've scanned. Hell, it's not even all of the 11X17 grayscale
monstrosity, but the detail level is there. It's an old piece, but I don't
mind showing it...I still like it, even though it is 4 years old.

I'll show more samples if there's interest. Until then, this is Moze
Howard, signing off. :)
