Enquiring minds want to know...
THE NEW BOSS OVERSEEING SPLASH IS SOME DUDE THAT IS INTO HARLEY DAVIDSONS. AND
BOY, THOSE ARE SO MUCH LIKE PWC! ANYWAY, HE IS ELIMINATING ALL LIFESTYLES AND
SURFING COVERAGE IN SPLASH, AND HE WANTS RACING COVERAGE (ALL RACING COVERAGE)
ELIMINATED AS WELL. PERHAPS THE NEW DUDE SHOULD LET THE ADVERTISERS KNOW...LIKE
JET PILOT, YAMAHA, BODY GLOVE, R&R, ETC. WORD IS THAT THERE WILL BE A MAXIMUM
OF FOUR (4) PAGES PER ISSUE OF RACING COVERAGE. PERIOD.
FROM THE SOUNDS OF IT, SPLASH IS GOING TO BE JUST LIKE THE NOW DEAD AND GONE
WATERCRAFT POWER. AT LEAST WE STILL HAVE PWI AND WATERCRAFT WORLD!!
SO. IF ERIN'S JOB WAS ELIMINATED...THAT LEAVES JUST ONE EDITOR AND A
PART TIME INTERN TO RUN THE SHOW. NOW, THAT'S A QUALITY STAFF.
AND IF SHE WAS IN FACT LAID OFF, WHY WOULD THEY NOT ALLOW HER TO GO INTO HER
OFFICE TO PICK UP HER MAIL AND PERSONAL EFFECTS? SOUNDS LIKE A FIRING TO ME.
ERIN WAS THE ONLY MAGAZINE PERSON THAT ATTENDED LOCAL RACES AND EVENTS. SHE DID
A LOT TO GROW THE SPORT THROUGH THE YEARS. WHAT THEY DID WAS JUST PLAIN SHITTY.
>Does anyone know the skinny on why Erin is no longer with Splash??

From what I have heard, Erin's position as Associate Editor at Splash was
"eliminated" while she was on disability leave. Sounds fishy to me. I've
heard stories about the way McMullen Argus management treats people, so this
does not surprise me.
I've seen a post somewhere here in r.s.j. that it is also rumored that there is
a new editorial direction at Splash and it will include significantly less race
coverage and no surf coverage. All this does not bode well for PWC enthusiasts
especially with the recent demise of Watercraft Power.
Has anyone heard anything else? Please let me know and post it to this thread.
I'm sure others here would be curious about what's going on. We need Splash
to support our sport, not ignore it.
