My dealer wants $250.00 to install a seadoo guage, but that seems
over priced to me.
Also, does anyone make a clock that will fit in the stock guage pods ?
I have seen hour meters but no clocks.
Regards,
Troy Hoehner
I don't know about the clock, but I put the Seadoo fuel gauge on my '95
HX.
The gauge has warning lights for low oil, fuel, voltage, and high temp
as
well as the LCD bar graph fuel gauge. That price should include all the
sensors, but I believe there was a baffle that had to be installed in
the
fuel tank that cost a little extra. If you don't have the baffle, then
it
will be hard to get a steady fuel level when you are riding. Also, they
had
to modify the oil level sensor a little bit, because the HX oil resevoir
is shaped differently from the 95 XP or whatever the gauge was
originally
designed for. Now that they have the fuel gauge as standard on the HX,
they
may have the correct oil level sensor as an HX part.

I recently put the Sea-Doo digital guage in my 95 HX. I paid roughly
$300 for the guage and the fuel sender which they make you buy
separately. The fuel guage is an eight bar digital with warning lights
for battery, cooling, and low oil. It was a piece of cake to install.
The guage that comes stock on the 97 HX is the VDO analog fuel guage,
way less expensive, you might want to go that route. You can buy the VDO
from someplace like Overtons fairly cheap.

$250?! Good Lo'd! How long is that taking him.. 5 hours?! It should only be like $100
at the most to install the gauge, along with the $175 for the gauge. Really, it isnt a hard
job at all to install a gauge. You could try it, and if you can't get it then take it in.
Sea-Doo uses VDO gauges which is practically the best there is as far as Marine gauges.
