It looks like Jacks record is safe for now and well into the future.

It was fun every year wondering how many more Majors Tiger would win.
How much closer
he would come to jacks 18...Now it looks like Tiger just may fade away
or if he comes back
pull another David Duval. This sort of thing will surely take his mind
off of the game if he does
come back, a game where you must be 110% focused too stay at the top.
It is a wonder that
he made it as far as he did. Tigers action, will affect thousand upon
thousands of people.
His actions will cost an untold amount of money and the game of golf
will suffer for it.
My actions during my life, I have always tried to use two to guiding
questions for myself...
What would my parents think? How would this look if it showed up in
the newspapers?
Apparently Tiger considered only himself.

IMO, he's gonna get to 19 faster than ever now.

Hyper-competitive people get hyper motivated when they hear stuff like
what you just wrote.

It's going to be one of two things, as a friend of mine who was a golf
fan before Tiger took the Tour over has told me:

It's either over, and Jack's record is safe...

... or Tiger will come back, double middle-finger extended, win every
tournament he can by 20, and tell the world to fuck off afterwards.

He is still likely to catch and pass Jack's 18... It's not guaranteed,
but still likely.

I got $100 with Carbon that he won't reach 19.

Once Tiger gets divorced he has only one thing left in life and that
will be to beat Jack's major record. Without the ball and chain around
his neck Tiger will be free to do what he wants.

Tiger will break Jack's record in 2 years. He knows it's the only way
he'll get people to shut up about his personal life.

Retiring would do that even better.

But he'll play because he wants to win, not because he wants us to
shut up.

This will never go away for Tiger. It will be similar to Barry Bonds
and steroids abuse.

I disagree.

Bonds' transgression involved competition.

Woods' does not. Some people won't forgive him, but most people are
interested in him as a golfer. If Kobe Bryant, whose alleged
transgression was worse, can come back, then so can Woods.

The public will come back, mostly. The big question is how Tiger
responds to his troubles.
